  1. 1)Sara Cox- brilliantly entertaining, deserves a far far better show than that she is stuck with. 2) Chris Moyles- irreplacible. 3) Reggie Yates- very listenable, deserved to be promoted over Cotton (their joint shows were always far more entertaining when it was just him than her floundering on her own). 4) Scott Mills- like him but his show can tend to sound fake/contrived. 5) Edith Bowman- has gone way up in my estimations since being replaced by a personality-free robot. 6 ) Vernon Kay- bearable. 7) Greg James- why does he have a national radio show? So bland and devoid of any individuality, really does not deserve to be the so-called future of BBC Radio 1. 8 ) Huw Stephens- well done, you were born in Wales. Any need to mention it every 5 minutes? Wholly underwhelming replacement for Jo Whiley- even feels the need to rip off the Seven Song Shuffle. In essence, complete filler radio- non-essential, put-it-on-if-there's-nothing-better-to-do listening. 9) Fearne Cotton- and well done to you, you're younger than Jo Whiley. Vacuous drivel radio, parachuted in because she's nearer the target audience age. Personifies 'beige'. Typifies the 'age over talent' approach of current BBC Radio 1 thinking. 10) Dev- simply awful. Find a better replacement, someone who doesn't have such ridiculous intonation.
  2. Good news (if true). I can't even comprehend the awfulness of Greg James on breakfast.
  3. Well it's a bit like the rest of the schedule now really- pretty average. The weekend wasn't the same without Jo...
  4. And I agree with both of you! I find what she has to say a lot more relevant than any of the younger presenters who are supposed to appeal to us more.
  5. Can't believe she's leaving! I LOVE listening to her show at weekends- it's a guaranteed quality listen. The final show's on at the moment and it's brilliant. Huw seems a nice enough chap, and I don't mind him but it seems like he could be anyone- there's nothing that makes him distinct. But then Radio 1 seems hell bent on geting rid of talented broadcasters and bringing in a generation of bland so-called 'personalities'. Hmm.
  6. I loved Jo's show on daytime, and since moving to weekends it seems to have gone from strenth to strength. I think she makes effortlessly brilliant radio- her features are always interesting and worth listening to, and the show fits more perfectly into the weekend than I ever imagined when the changes were first announced. I'm really going to miss her- I thought she brought a certain class to Radio 1 which is kinda missing in other shows. I don't feel the need the need to listen to dumbed-down radio just because I'm 20-something, and I think it's shame Andy Parfitt has once again chosen age over quality. I know I certainly find Jo a hell of a lot more relevant than anything Fearne Cotton's ever come up. So farewell Jo, you'll be sorely missed. Oh, and Huw Stephens? He comes across as being a nice person, but his shows are pretty dull. Sara Cox would have been the obvious choice. Don't know why they continue to hold her back.
  7. YES, I love Saz! She was brilliant last time and expect she will be this time too... Looking forward to it.
  8. I knew it would happen one day- Saz's glorious return to the breakfast show! Really looking forward to tomorrow- will be just like the old days... kinda.
  9. Really not that fussed over Matt- but Sara deserves a lot more than one crappy show a week. And ditch the skive/lie-in thing- there's enough boring old music on The Golden Hour and Wonder Years already.
  10. Oh dear, shan't be listening that weekend then.
  11. I take it they won't release figures for Fearne and Greg- or 'the boring bit in the middle of the day when I don't listen', as I like to refer to them?
  12. I'm rather looking forward to it.
  13. Uni days were amazing with the Jo Whiley 10-1 breakfast show! Good news about Chris staying for another year, though they couldn't not keep him could they?!
  14. Ooh no, best move they ever made to ditch Nihal. The 1-4 slot was brilliant with Sara, unlistenable with Nihal, and now one of the best shows on the station (again) with JW. I don't think there'll be much change this year- as long as Sara'a back it'll be great. If she took over Vernon's show it'd make weekends rather amazing with a Sara-Jo-Reggie lineup. I would like to see less Matt and Dev, and a lot less Greg and Fearne (especially) but that won't happen. I find Reggie really entertaining, though he seems to fallen out of favour- but as I mostly only hear daytime at the weekends it's fine with me if he stay there!
  15. Another Jonathan Harvey penned episode I think- man's a genius! And he loves a popular culture reference.
  16. What a welcome return it was. I was at Glastonbury so didn't hear it live- but listening back on the iPlayer to the Friday show and those at the weekend really showed what a brilliant presenter JW is- a thoroughly entertaining and well-made listen (take note Fearne...). Thanks Jo!
  17. YES! We all live in hope Cotton won't bother returning...
  18. I hope Jo doesn't go- I love the show! They wouldn't get rid of her would they, surely her show's too popular?
  19. I agree- thought it would be rubbish but quite surprised at how good the music is, and how entertaining Grimmy is. Shame I don't get to listen to it much!
  20. So FC now has 250,001 listeners? Well done love.
  21. I want to like Greg James... but I find his show quite generic and bland. It just seems a bit 'local radio'. I used to dislike Edith, but she started to grow on me and I'm kind of missing her now!
  22. Me too- I had the displeasure of hearing the entire show for once. It's not as bad as it once was, but not really worthy of daytime Radio 1 is it? Why did she keep banging on about her mother? Newsflash Cotton- I don't give a shit! Might just listen to Jo's weekend shows again instead.
