The fact is, statistics are never conclusive, its a correlation which could be down to all sorts of things. If they just asked the right people they'd get a much better response. Hang about, didn't the article mention BBC 1 too? This was a generic "everyone" questionnaire then... given to home owners and parents, the kind of people who will watch BBC 1 all day happily, but can't stand that young new music that that ruddy Radio 1 plays.

Is 5Live on FM? Ive heard Bacons pretty good, should give him a try sometime. You're right Viv, they do need to bring new talent in, but as Ben Cooper and Andy Parfit said, its a bit of a conveyor belt, and really someones got to drop off before they can bring a newbie in. They are really looking closely at student radio to pick out some talent, they cant steal from commercial anymore. And once they do find someone new, where do they put them? Early Breakfast is the normal training ground for the newbies, but until Greg chooses to move on up, they can't really stick a fresh face into the middle of a daytime schedule, its not fair.

I miss Colin Murray so much, I gave Grimmy a go but I just can't cope with his "not quite switch but still aimed at tweens" style. Ediths show is okay to drop in and out of, but she just fills the rest of her show with unsubstantial effortless features. Which are fine... but not as many and often as she does them! Whiley needs to be given a more specialist show again, she trys to fit in as much new music as she can, but its just not enough for her. Get her onto 6Music

I would be interested to see who was actually asked in this survey. Doesnt sound like something their target audience would have an issue with. How do you go about changing the taste and decency of a radio station without turning it into Radio 4?

Well if its the laptop, I would take a bet and tell him to drill though ... F1 F7 F12, Del, Enter, q t p a g l n c, both ctrls and maybe a few more for luck. That should destory something... Remember to unplug it and take out the battery first!

They did this on Newsbeat a few months back, Dan Whitworth had to destory a computer, the only way to actually kill it was to drill though the hard drive bit. Don't do that with your laptop though Scott, unless your that desperate for not to see anything

Davids vocals are growing on me. They do sound a little odd at the moment, and I dont think its all finalised as they had him back in the other day. He's from the SRA Station of last year, Fly in Nottingham Trent. They are still trying to make Radio 1 sound younger.

Double shifts on Monday then what with his asian network show too. He's on a 6 day week as it is!
