this is a little bit shocking, only picking up the story from twitter and news websites. We need to wait for confirmation on anything at the moment, the reports are conflicting and we're all just jumping on that tmz said. Might be right, might not.

I videoed a bit of his DJ set at Swindon, he's amazingly quick on the decks. Unfortunately my data stick with all the pictures died. Do have the sound recording I used for a competition piece still tho. Would love to see Zane do a full set live. Shame the club in my student union shut down, so he can't come there :-(

Yeah, Scott grew more attached to the wig then he should have, he's probably kept it for comfort twiddling. Greg easily could have put his head under a tap and got that hair do. It suited him, maybe he could brush his own hair like that sometime :-p

Which is why student radio is so important, we have no one to please but ourselves, so long as its doesn't offend anyone we can technically do whatever we want. I've gotta learn to make the most of it really, been far too conservative so far. I'm not really presenter material, but I do love doing it, so I'll keep it up. I would love to improve my production skills though, which I will have the chance to do next year as part of my new degree and being head of production at Pure FM. If I can get into Radio 1 doing that, then I'm more then happy. That point is highlighted by the survey which people decided that Radio 1 isnt tasteful or decent. They weren't asking their target audience but the whole population by the looks of it. If they can work on making the best radio they can for their actual target audience, then they would get along fine. Afterall they've managed to get us to listen somehow, now bloody entertain us! haha

Yeah, honestly I can't see him saying "No I'd rather stay doing early mornings then keep having a job here" Well they know that at student radio people get the opportunity to make loads of mistakes, and get to know the sea from the comfort of their own rock pools, we get the chance to be anything and everything at our station. And you're right, they can take someone whos had a couple of years experience running the desk and constructing shows, and mold them into someone who is right for radio 1, allowing their personalities to develop. Mills said that he didn't find his personality until he was on Radio 1, despite all the radio he'd already done. Then again, most commercial stations don't give you the space to have a personality, so how Moyles managed to build such a big and strong personality... Hmmm

Sometimes I find Zanes playlist a bit too outside the box, not mainstream or indie enough for me, too urban and dnbish. But he's definitely one of those DJ's you grow into.

Jono should definitely go for it, he'd be given some kind of role in it somewhere!

Yeah, not sure if theres any white mainstream DJ's on 1Xta at the moment tho, which is fine because they can bring though some of their DJs to balance the very whiteness (or orangeness) of Radio1. Saying that, we don't know who R1 & 1Xta have waiting in the wings, such as runners and stuff, coming up the route Annie Mac took.
