  1. I actually don't like 1 Xtra in general, but specifically its Drivel and Gemma that get on my tits. Don't particularly like the music that gets played, but I could quite happily listen to MistaJam if he promised not to play any music, the same with Westwood
  2. Well when it comes to exercise etc I'm trying to go for walks etc when I'm on a break as I'm determined not to end up the same size as some of the guys kicking about the garage. However, its proving hard to shift my old eating habits. For example, in the last job I was constantly on the move so I could get away with eating a bit more rubbish and maintaining a stable weight but because I'm sat down so much now I have to make a special effort to walk where and whenever I can. I wouldn't say I'm fat, 34 waist and a M in tops but I'm still not as slim as I'd prefer. God I sound like Aled off the breakfast show now don't I?
  3. They will promote it, and of course they should. However, I hope we don't end up at the stage where it is literally they talk about as this gets exceptionally boring. It'll also be interesting to see what sort of people they have on the trailers, whether its the normal crowd or the "I is aksin yooooo sumink" arseholes they seem to crop up particularly in that part of the country. I hope to God we don't hear much from Drivel Nelson and Gemma Cairney, the more they and their nonsense are kept on 1Xtra the better in my opinion.
  4. Well you were more than partonising in your post to me, so I was simply evening it up. Don't start it and you don't get it back, simple.
  5. Did I say that? No I don't believe I did. I can't stand Beiber, I don't mind N-Dubz but I wouldn't say i was a fan and most of the ones from Z Factor are poor as well. The only half descent ones to come from those shows are Olly Murs and JLS. I'm well aware of this you partonising arse, what I was meaning that there was a time when you had to really want a song in order to buy it. I would have to get the bus into town, get £3 or however much a CD was, and then go and find it in the likes of HMV. Nowadays with everything being able to be bought digitally in seconds, and for as little as 50p per track, there are far more chances for absolute dross to chart. People can now buy something on a whim. "Chavs" can go off and buy any old screechy noise that someone claims is music and it has the ability to chart. Idiotic children who love the likes of Beiber are able to get hold of his drones because they've made it far too easily accessible. The way I bought music as a kid/teenager was completely different to how they buy it now. I know this makes me sound old but I'm only 25! This just goes to show how much things have changed in the last decade and I don't believe it is for the better Do you honestly think that if we still had to go to so much effort to obtain music that the likes of that God awful Cover Drive would have got to number 1 the other week? I think not. P.S. Using hash tags in forums is moronic, they belong on Twitter. Just thought you should know.
  6. He may well be thats true, I'm not sure what time slot he does so couldn't comment. That said, just because someone works for another station doesn't necessarily mean you have to dislike them.
  7. I do a lot of walking rather than running, but sadly I can't see any improvement. Oh the joys of being sat on my arse for several hours a day.
  8. you ain't gonna like this, but I'm with Viv on this one. Florence and her machine are dreadful, unfortunately anyone can buy music these days including those with no taste which is why her albums do so well. Its also why we have so much bilge in the charts these days
  9. Having watched the longer clip that somebody uploaded, I have to say I admire Frank Skinner for not putting him into room 101 and also for seeming to defend Chris when the audience, Packam and to a certain degree Tarrant seemed to be all on the anti-Moyles side of the fence.
  10. Unfortunately he's a very easy target and the public have a bad, and frankly false I believe, opinion of him and what he is like. He's one of these people who people just decide to dislike and jump on the bandwagon about, I remember having a conversation with my Mum when the marathon show was on and she said something about not liking him and I found this a bit odd as she nothing she watches on tv he is likely to appear on and she doesn't listen to any radio unless its on in Dad's car. I can only put her dislike of him down to what she hears and what the public's perception of him largely is and no doubt this is the same with many others who may never have even heard his show but have decided to go along with it regardless. Ok he can be a bit ranty at times but then again who doesn't go off on 1 when something is wrong or someone is being a moron? I hardly think think that an arrogat, ignorant, motormouth with a ridiculously oversized ego would have done some of the things he has for charity now would they? Its not as if he needs the promotion, what with having one of the biggest radio shows in Britain is it?
  11. What he meant was that the agency would tell the council we were now in that flat, as thats what happened with him in the past. It just annoyed me that he assumed that it would be the same this time round even though it was a different place and a different agency.
  12. I know its unlikely to get back to him through this but I'm still a bit wary about writing it. However, my flatmate's lack of urgency and paying attention to things is getting to me a bit. I was curious as to why we hadn't heard anything about the council tax a few weeks in and he said that the letting agency would get in touch with the council telling them about us living here so I took his word as he's rented placed before. Only when I looked through the T&Cs did I discover that it was up to us to tell them, not the agency. We get letters confirming that the standing orders for the rent took effect as of February, I read the letter properly and it said we also had to go and pay for January either card or cash. I mentioned the letter to him and he said that wasn't what was said so I told him to check again, then he realised he hadn't read it properly and started moaning about why they hadn't done it sooner or told us that this would be happening. Tax bill for the first quarter comes through, says on it that it has to be paid on or by February 8th but he wanted to phone up and see if we could get some sort of payment plan so we paid every month rather than in 1 go every 3 months. He phone them, and when I said today that I'd just pay it online and get the money off him he said that the date on it is just an indication and that we have a month or so to pay it after that. Both of us are in full time work so money isn't a problem for us as the rent and tax are fairly cheap so I don't understand why hes so carefree about it all. Stuff has to be paid for so when the bill arrives it should just be dealt with at the time.
  13. Oh children stop arguing, its all rather ridiculous.
  14. Rizzle Kicks - Dreamers Walk Hard - Dewey Cox (John C Reilly) I'm Not Alone - Calvin Harris Business - Chipmunk Arguru - Deadmau5 Flowers In The Window - Travis Sandstorm - Darude Last Days Of Disco - Robbie Williams Falling In Love - Taio Cruz Big Weenie - Eminem
  15. Peeeeeeeerrrrrrvvvvvveeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrtttttt
  16. I dunno about you Viv, but when I go into the bathroom its because I usually need to do some toilet or washing based task, I don't go in there just to look out the window The only real benefits to having the bathroom window in my flat is that it lets some light in the downstairs part as its a bit dark even during the day and we can open the window to get some of the steam out when a shower has happened.
  17. Pretty weird dream, my only weird dream lately was that I was at the parents in the garden but I was my real age in the dream and the garden was how it looked when I was a child. Then the police showed up in cars and vans, swarmed the street and driveway then bundled somebody in the back of a van. This all got to my dad who was a combination of in tears and furious about something and I had to reason with the police to let me take him into the house and calm him down. Absolutely no idea what it was about, sometimes my dreams can be affected by whats on the radio when I'm dozing but there was nothing at all that could have influenced my dream. I should point out that their street is largely very quiet (apart from when I show up in the car ) and dad is a very quiet man who has no police issues whatsoever lol
  18. well thats true, nobody else puts so much effort into random nonsense like BBC3 does. The only exception to that being the repeats of Top Gear and periodically when they show The Real Hustle
  19. Well its been a while since they've had a go at him, more often than not they don't even need a reason they'll just twist something to make it sound like he's done something when he hasn't. I'm not gonna bother reading the story but it seems like a classic case of someone who doesn't get it when they listen to his show, or someone who simply believes his "reputation". Tell me, how long into the story do they refer to him as "motormouth" or his (frankly now average) size?
  20. I just wish they had kept this sort of bilge for across the atlantic. Its bad enough we get a lot of their nonsense pumped into our houses on the likes of E4 and no doubt the various Sky/Virgin channels, we don't need to start making our own versions of it all. Don't wanna sound all anti-American etc but God they know how to make some truly dreadful tv and unfunny comedy.
  21. Its the exact same with our buses. Any window at all gets broken we park up immediately once we know about it (or as soon as practical/safe) and the bus is then out of service. Viv I've got no idea how much it is to repace the window on one of ours but I imagine it would probably be a similar cost.
  22. Can someone clarify this for me. When TOWIE (or as Jimmy Car says, its not the only way, there is a better way) started, was it not meant to be a bit of a piss take? That was my understanding to begin with because the trailers at least made it all out to look a bit stereotypical. When did it start to be accepted as an entertainment program and its "stars" classed as "celebs"? It really does worry me that there are people out there who think this sort of show is something to aspire to, and believe me I know someone who is under the dilusion that it is the height of glamour.
  23. That time came a lot time ago and unfortunately I don't think anything will ever stop it. The programmes make too much money for the tv companies and because the general public is such an idiot and fickle bunch they will always want these kind of shows now they've got a taste for them. Its one thing to enjoy dipping in and out of these programmes but when you start to take them seriously and let your life be dictated by them thats just getting too far. I used to be friends with a couple who were exactly like that. They got way too worked up about whatever was happening on the show (X Factor at the time if I remember), and at one point we were at the ridiculous stage where if people were going out for the night they would wait till they'd seen the show before they joined us. I admit that in the past I have watched Big Brother and have dipped in and out of X Factor, but in the last few years I've deliberately avoided any and all of these kind of shows. I don't watch X Factor, I don't like BGT, nor do I watch any of these dancing shows or I'm A Nobody, Get Me A Career. I refuse to let them in my life and to be honest I actually think its all the better for it. The only exception I've made recently was when Comedy Dave was on Dancing on Ice, and that was only because of the stories we were hearing on the breakfast show in the mornings, I liked to know what they were talking about. I only watched the bits where he was in and when he left I stopped watching. I have to say though, when it comes to the people who put themselves forward for these shows I have no sympathy for them whatsoever. Everyone knows that a lot of these people are there to be laughed at, if someone is so stupid to think that wouldn't happen to them then they deserve whats coming to them I'm afraid.
  24. Well they made such a fine job of the initial tracks that got laid down in Princess Street that they were taken up and redone. There is talk of the street being pedestrianised and the trams being the only thing allowed down it. The only reason for that in reality is to try and force people to use the damn things so it doesn't turn into a massive "told you so" to the council or whoever it is who is actually in charge of this nonsense. More bus related moans. Was hoping to have a nice easy evening, a couple of short quiet trips and off service back to the depot for the night. Did I get that? oh no no no no, someone else had other ideas. Was happily minding my own business heading into town and someone chucks a stone/brick at the bus, although a bit of me wonders if it was a BB gun, breaking the window. Had to sit and wait on a patrol van coming to deal with the problem, got back to the garage and someone started going ape shit thinking I hadn't reported it to the control room (which I had), then I had to go and report it to the police as well, oh the fun times I have in this job.....
