Jade was a former Big Brother contestant who became famous for saying stupid things - eg Saddam Hussein was a boxer She then became rich and a 'celebrity' She then went on celebrity Brother, and said some more ignorant things.. but this time the great british public (ie The Sun) have decided that these are racist as well as stupid, therefore not ok. Now everyone hates her. In a hilarious twist, the Chancellor of the Exchequer (Dude in cherge of economy and budget etc) who also desperately wants to be Prime Minister, was in India at the time, where there were apparently riots, and hade to diffuse the situation. Oh the irony...

it's another well-worn debate from the R1 message board! I'm not a big Jo fan... I find her a bit condescending "if you like these bands then you'll like this..." and a bit of a bandwagon jumper. Also her school run tales aren't very rock and roll!

Yeah I totally agree. Radio 1 does have some phone-in features, such as tonight's sunday surgery special, and some of the newsbeat features, but essentially it has to consider the target audience. 16-25 year olds listen to radio for music, and are more likely to go online for advice and issues, especially with the advantages of anonimity. The onelife board on radio1 online is also good
