  1. Bit of a flawed argument, Formula 1 has developed it's safety through about 50 years of racing, and people have paid the price for it. Forumla 1 is all about safety for goodness sake. Formula 1 cars are designed to roll in every direction and there is no way for the driver to be seriously injured anymore, failing a head on collision with a brick wall at 200mph, ala Michael Schumacher in Silverstone, and even he left with only a couple of broken legs. Richard Hammond crashed, on a simple bump in the track (never spotted?), rolled the car and would have died if it wasn't for a rapid responce helicopter ambulance. Not only was there nothing ready to take him to hospital (sure it is admitted if it had happened a few moments later he would have died, due to there being no helicopter), the roll bar failed and the helmet would really have helped with your head flying into the ground at nearly 300mph.
  2. Firstly, it doesn't matter if Richard is hapy about it or not - it is morally wrong to show things like that on tv, it is the public's lust for blood that drives the tv companies to this. As I have said before if I was shot in the head and my brains were splattered everywhere, but before hand I had said I would be happy to show it on tv, does that make it ok to show on tv? Secondly, what little boy racer drives at 300mph and it is hardly a safe environment they were filming in, there is no way to test the car at those speeds and the car is designed to go as fast as possible with no regard for safety basically, it was only a stroke of luck that meant Richard Hammond survived. There is no argument you can make that will change my mind on this sorry.
  3. Yeah, don't drive a car at fucking 300mph, that is the lesson to be learnt. I can see why the company who made the car should look at it to see what went wrong and fix it for future and I can see why the police should look at it, to press charges against the people who fecked it up but to show it on tv - that is no better than the plans to show Steve Irwin on tv.
