Vicky Hawkesworth, covering Early Breakfast for Mylo and Rosie all week, handed out her "invisible crown" for team captain to a listener who openly admitted he was working the system. Steve messaged in to say he'd already held the title once before, but reckoned that "while Mylo and Rosie are away" with a substitute in charge, he could sneak it again and become the first ever two-time team captain. Vicky loved the cheek of it, telling listeners she admired "the audacity" of his pitch enough to hand him the crown anyway.

Vicky also kept the Live Lounge chat going, recapping Charlie and Jerry's interview with Anderson .Paak and Bruno Mars from the day before. She revealed that Jerry had asked the pair whether fans might ever see Silk Sonic reunite alongside Anderson .Paak, Bruno Mars and DJ Pee.Wee all together, joking "they didn't say no." One of the duo also confessed to being humbled by their own teenager, saying "I'm not even in the top 20" of their kid's favourite artists, with Tyler, the Creator apparently topping the list instead.

Elsewhere, the Swap Exchange saw Sharon trade a sweet-filled gumball machine for her song choice, and listeners around the world – from Poland to Zimbabwe to Australia – got shoutouts as Vicky ran the morning Register, inviting texts with inventive versions of "here, miss."
