Wayne revealed he turned down a chance to appear on The Voice years ago, telling the presenters “I’d love to be a judge on The Voice,” while Colleen spoke about getting more involved in fashion work than people realise. The couple also looked back on Wayne’s much-mocked wine advert.
The show revisited Friday’s Cash Call win, in which Lee from Bexley Heath was made a millionaire by Amanda Holden. Listeners heard his reaction: “This still feels like a scam, Amanda.” The team then launched this week’s bigger prize, encouraging listeners to enter a draw for £1.25 million by texting before 5pm Friday.
Regular features included Rhyme Time, won convincingly by police officer Natalie with a score of eight, and the Bong Game, where Lena from Eton banked £1,400 for her family. The Beat the Week quiz saw a caller named Sophie correctly answer all five questions, including one about Thursday’s upcoming guest Stephen Graham.
Elsewhere, Sian launched a light-hearted “WOMO” (watching on my own) movement for listeners with picky partners, prompted by her frustrations watching TV with her other half. Jordan faced teasing over his “roast post” Instagram habit, particularly his gravy and sprout ratios. Capital presenter Will Manning also sent in the first challenge pitch for this year’s Global’s Make Some Noise, proposing a 24-hour “yes man” stunt.
