Dakota Johnson joined Greg James for an extended chat and a round of Unpopular Opinion on Monday’s Radio 1 Breakfast Show. She discussed her psychological thriller Verity, based on the Colleen Hoover novel, describing the film’s twists without spoiling the plot, and revealed she doesn’t scroll BookTok reaction videos to her work: “I don’t think I have.” She also spoke about starring alongside Taylor Swift in the newly released Patient Zero video, calling Swift “a genius person” and confirming the concept had been in the works since around the start of the year. Johnson touched on attending Swift’s recent wedding, saying she took several of the table doily favours home but couldn’t reveal any photos, joking she’d been “near enough” to Paul McCartney for a picture.
Elsewhere, the show covered the MTV VMAs, where Madonna took seven prizes, including one for her collaboration with Sabrina Carpenter, and Taylor Swift won Video of the Year and Artist of the Year honours, dedicating one award to Dolly Parton.
