Well it's Tuesday and it's the Scott Mills Show. Here's the low-down of what happened today. Bear with me if this seems a bit rushed; it's been a hectic afternoon!
Four Weddings and Chappers
Chappers is still on the search for a thank you card for sending a wedding gift. Remember the Heart Shaped Muffin Tray that he lost because Paris Hilton's list was a fake? He's just seen Natasha Kaplinsky's wedding list in the newspaper, and she's got some interesting products that she wants. And he's also hoping to send some garlic presses to Jordan and Peter and Natasha and her partener (not Brendon, that's her ex). Scott wants Chappers to get a new hobby, although I'm not too sure, Chappers could get a job in Heat for all this interest in celebrities.
That Summer Friday Thing
Scott and the team wanted to go to Ibiza this weekend to celebrate the 10 years of Radio 1 in Ibiza, but as Chappers said, the show's budget has ran out. So rather than going to Ibiza, Scott needs some suggestions as to where to go. Magaluff, St Andrews and a canal boat is out of the question, which is dissapointing, but Moyles and others have already done this.
Suggestions included Carlisle, the 'Ibiza' bar in Wigan, a Christmas party on a bus, and a building site. More suggestions included the Shrewsbury Flower Show and Bognor Regis. In the end Mills chose to go to Abacus Recruitment in Cardiff.
Please note – guests cannot be accomodated for due to health and safety reasons.
Rate Them Happy
Today's Rate My Swimwear Person is Shawn from Chichester. He's been on a camping holiday at Newquay, and hasn't got a lot on. He's wearing some nice tight 60s style shorts and these were found in an old man's house, so he puts them on. It even has a pocket. When he's not doing this he's DJing and getting out and about. His ideal woman would be Heather Locklear and if it was a guy it would be David Schwimmer.
"Don't vote for me, vote for the shorts!"
When Scott went to ring him back to give him his results he wasn't answering his phone but apparently he's done much better than 'minging'.
Inspector Mills
Scott had a girl called Jenny on the phone who had met a guy called Luke and after a date with him found him very attractive and liked him a lot. She took his number, but several days later when she rung the number she went to ring him, she ended up with a girl who knew no Luke and the only boy she knew was 'Gary'. Speculation was that it could just be the wrong number although there was the rumours that Luke was actually Gary and it was his girlfriend that answered. Chappers summed it up:
'She's just a dog and he's blown her out'
Scott asked listeners called Luke who went out with a Jenny to get in touch, and after six Mills had another attempt at solving the case. He rung 'Gary's' mobile once again and a girl called Rachel answered as he was out. Find out tomorrow what happens as the drama unfolds…
Your Call
Tonight's Your Call tracks include Daniel Powter, Madison Avenue (devoted to a feminist), The White Stripes, The Coral and Simon Webbe. Talk about Friday's Cardiff trip, what to have for tea, a guy visiting someone who's broken their neck, and a playing of an Ash tune was cut short after it went a bit wrong…
Tonight's Most Wanted was James Blunt's You're Beautiful – once again.
Pompey's Chairman just couldn't work out the answer…
A Game of Two Halves
Each day this week Scott has some football merchandise and Premiership tickets to giveaway. Chappers once again had the second half to Moyles' question. Don't ask me, I know little about sport either… Today it was Portsmouth merchandise and Portsmouth v Spurs tickets to giveaway.
Also Today…
Scott claimed it was '8.19' instead of 6.19 – clearly he's still struggling with his 24 hour clock and talk about Zane's Album Amnesty (don't forget to send your CDs off).
Another review to come tomorrow with further information about the Luke/Gary/Jenny case and anything else that happens tomorrow…
