Morning Gossip with Mills
Mills was back with more gossip about going-ons in the celebrity world. In the newspapers today, Delta Goodrem is due to release a new clothing range to rival Kylie Minogue’s, Chris Evans brought a puppy, Billie Piper has been spotted and Will Young wants to be in Eastenders…
Scott’s favourite chav, Charlotte Church, was back in the tabloids and Mills also discussed ‘Hit Me Baby One More Time’, the new ITV1 show bringing back one hit wonder artists from the past, presented by Vernon. Scott discussed polo-necks and the artist ‘Tiffany’.
Gwen Stefani has been voted the Number 1 style icon, so go out and get a pirate costume from the Rich Girl video right now…
Flirt Divert
It was a busy weekend on Flirt Divert, as usual. A man claimed “the fat bird off Birds of A Feather” had just walked in and someone at a conference was about to make a surprise visit to someone’s work place at eight o’clock. A girl calling a guy called Tom ended the call rather abruptly after making a screaming noise as if she’d just fell down a hole in a road.
A man got in touch with Scott claiming his mobile phone number for work used to be one digit out from the Flirt Divert number. He seemed to have enjoyed the experience, and had one call from a lady asking if he was still wearing the “leopard skin thong from the night before”.
The Royal Wedding
Apparently the Daily Express are giving away a “lovely” limited edition plate commemorating the wedding of Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles on Saturday. All you have to do is collect six tokens and it’s yours. Get down to the newsagents people… A man from Manchester suggests they should give away Camilla Parker ‘Bowls’. Cue Moyles’ drums.
Homeless Mills
On Saturday night Scott had a bit too much to drink and is supposed to have told his flat mate he could have the house from Friday night to Sunday night. This means Mills is now homeless for the weekend and is looking for somewhere to stay.
Scott received numerous calls and texts about this including a man from Reading who offered to give him his home for the weekend providing he waters his two plants and doesn’t allow dogs (yes, the other sort).
One of the strangest calls came from a “gorgeous 29-year-old girl with long brown hair” called Leanne living near London speaking in a twisted voice. She was offering her home “and more”.
Caller: "Have you ever seen Pretty Woman… what else can I say to you."
Mills: "I've also seen Kathy Bates in Misery, bye!"
After cutting the caller off due to “problems” with the line, many men got in touch saying he was a lucky guy to have an offer like that. Whatever floats your boat I suppose…?
Celebrity Call
Celebrity Call was at 7.45am and 9.15am today. Chewbacca made a call to the BBC Information Line, and then Spongebob was back at 9.15 to ring a hotel in L.A using clips such as asking for Mr Krabs.

After being put through to various departments the caller finally put the phone down after just over 2 minutes 20.
The Takeaway Game
Scott had a brand new game today. The takeaway game. Scott phones a takeaway, makes an order, puts them on hold and rings up another takeaway. He then gets the first one to repeat the order to the second one, and the second one believes the first one is making a new order. From then on it gets confusing and complicated, but hopefully you get the gist. Makes great radio though! Not only do people have to watch out for the celebrity call and flirt divert, but now we’ve got a new Mills feature terrorising the phone-lines.
Rate My Listener
Today’s listener was Cat from Bath in her third year at university. Rated 31% not bad. Quite good considering most of them are rated minging.
First Play
Scott had the exclusive playing of Oasis’ new song, “Lila”. The new album, ‘Don’t Believe The Truth’ is out on the 30th of May.
Record of the Week
Scott’s record of the week this week is Mylo’s new song, ‘In My Arms’. It features that sample from Boy Meets Girl that’s now been milked in lots of songs including Sunset Strippers and Cabin Crew.
New Jingles
It’s been a while since the last proper Scott stint on the breakfast show, and he hasn’t really done a proper breakfast show round since the Jazz jingles were introduced on Moyles’ show. So it was about time we got some new jingles, unfortunately in my view they’re not as good as the last few batches, but still:
