Verne Troyer left behind a measurable legacy
The previous day’s visit produced an object the show could not resist examining: a pair of Verne Troyer’s pants. Scott put them on the scales and got a reading of 156 grams, although the bag or packaging made the number less scientifically pure than anyone pretended.
Chappers provided a control sample
Mark Chapman’s own pants were weighed for comparison at roughly 96 grams. A celebrity interview had therefore become an underwear-weight experiment within 24 hours, which felt entirely normal by the programme’s standards.
The public judged newsreaders and technology
Elsewhere the show tested a voice-activated telephone attendant using deliberately awkward names and asked the public to choose the sexiest newsreader, with familiar faces such as Huw Edwards and Peter Sissons entering the discussion. The theme was accidental: voices, appearances and even pants were all being evaluated by criteria nobody had asked for.
