Charli XCX tested the “Boys” excuse
Charli XCX joined Scott and Chris after the success of “Boys”. They wondered whether the lyric about being busy thinking about boys could possibly work as a real-life excuse and persuaded Charli to test it on her manager.
Calling him from her own phone, she suddenly announced that she was considering scrapping her album, re-recording everything and taking her music in a completely different direction. Whenever her increasingly confused manager challenged the idea, Charli deliberately lost focus and explained that she had been thinking about boys.
The joke became more convincing the longer the call continued, particularly because she was discussing genuine schedules and album plans before dropping the lyric back into the conversation.
Scott sent chocolates to his dentist
Scott had once again lost a troublesome dental crown while eating a particularly tough piece of chicken. His dentist had stayed open late to repair it, so Scott decided to send the practice a thank-you present.
Unfortunately, he chose a box of chocolates.
Chris pointed out that sending sugary food to a dentist was perhaps the least appropriate present available, although the practice later replied to say the chocolates had been gratefully accepted by the whole team.
Gemma Collins chose a blow-dry over hot water
The programme also rediscovered an extraordinary old Celebrity Big Brother clip involving Matt Edmondson and Gemma Collins. Given the choice between restoring hot water to the house or having her hair blow-dried, Gemma chose the blow-dry.
What fascinated Scott and Chris most was how calmly the other housemates accepted her decision while she explained that having her hair done would make her happier and therefore easier to live with.
Scott also admitted to playing a Christmas song despite it only being the beginning of September.
