Scott reads Beccy’s texts and Barrol and Betty say hello
The programme began with Beth, who had met The X Factor winner Matt Cardle during a hospital visit. Scott thought Cardle should have sung for the ward, then asked listeners whether they had ever been trapped in bed while a celebrity they did not particularly like arrived to brighten the place up.
Beccy Raps took on Flo Rida’s Wild Ones, with the team proudly noting that the feature was trending worldwide. Chris remained baffled that this was happening, while Scott and Beccy accepted it as the perfectly sensible reward for a West Country version of a major pop song.
Thursday’s Innuendo Bingo produced another visual spectacle on the website. Chris arrived in special jeans with a large hole in the crotch, while clips about keeping things “nice and moist”, a washing “knob” and being “in your face, up your bum” ensured that neither of them stayed dry for long.
At ten past three, Scott unveiled a selection of texts Beccy had sent him. She immediately tried to establish whether the messages were merely work-related or whether he was about to expose the kind of private exchanges that could be held against her later.
The show also heard Dear Scott messages, including listeners signing Scott up for unwanted celebrity mailing lists, and celebrated Barrol and Betty after their Sony Radio Award nomination. A recorded greeting from the BBC Humberside pair gave Scott the approval from his new favourite radio presenters that he had been hoping for.
