Beccy returns and Chris previews his documentary

Beccy was back in the studio after joining Scott’s Comic Relief desert challenge in Kenya. She was embarrassed by the emotional call she had made to Scott while he was away, especially after colleagues judged her attempt to stop herself crying.

Scott caught her up on the weeks she had missed, including Jennifer Lopez’s interview and Chris’s emerging television project. Chris explained that he had filmed a pilot around Pinner with his friend Doug.

The trouble with It’s Chris was that its star could not make a normal day sound dramatic. Chris nevertheless believed that simply following him around could become essential viewing.

Beccy’s return also revived the show’s quick, familiar rhythm. Scott was delighted to have someone else present to question Chris’s plans, while Chris was pleased to have a fresh audience for the documentary.

The programme treated Beccy’s first day back as both a reunion and a debrief. Her desert experience was real and important, but Scott made sure the conversation kept swerving back to the far less consequential question of whether Chris’s programme had a future.
