The Hoff is back
Scott continued celebrating the message he had received from David Hasselhoff.
He replayed memories of their earlier adventures and asked the team whether they would join him for a night out when the Hoff next visited London.
The answer was an enthusiastic yes.
Scott promised to arrange another on-air reunion.
The Birthday Game: Laura
Laura from Devon turned 46 and worked as an online teacher.
She enjoyed the freedom of teaching pupils remotely and dreamed of eventually working from somewhere more exotic.
Laura wanted strong 1980s pop from artists including Wham!, Madonna, Whitney Houston and Simple Minds, or 1970s disco from Chic and Sister Sledge.
Her first spin was Hanson’s MMMBop. Laura rejected it immediately.
The second was Frank Sinatra’s Strangers in the Night. She gambled again.
Her compulsory final song was Wham!’s first UK and US number one.
Laura had specifically requested Wham! and was delighted that the third spin delivered exactly what she wanted.
The Music Police
The Music Police returned after Scott’s wedding break.
The force reopened its case files and examined a new remembered fragment.
Scott warned that a long absence had not improved the quality of the evidence submitted by listeners.
Radio 2 in the Park
Scott encouraged Laura to consider travelling from Devon to Preston for Radio 2 in the Park, suggesting she turn the long journey into a holiday.
Handover
Scott handed over after Laura’s ideal third spin and the Music Police’s return.
