George and Daniel’s big day
Scott congratulated Radio 2 superfans George and Daniel on their wedding in Essex.
Their reception tables were named after Radio 2 presenters.
The themes matched the broadcasters, with The Traitors fans placed on Claudia Winkleman’s table and the wedding breakfast giving Zoe Ball an obvious role.
Scott received the full table plan and debated where each member of the station’s line-up belonged.
He expected Rylan’s table to be among the loudest and suggested his own should carry a Eurovision theme.
The Birthday Game: Amy
Amy was preparing for a joint 40th-birthday holiday to Málaga with six school friends, all of whom were reaching the same landmark during the year.
She wanted 1990s and 2000s R&B, naming Mary J. Blige, TLC and Destiny’s Child.
Her first spin was Westlife’s Fool Again, their fifth consecutive number one. Amy rejected it despite knowing a friend would disapprove.
The second was the Rolling Stones’ The Last Time. She called the band legendary but gambled again.
Her compulsory final song was Jennifer Lopez featuring Pitbull with On the Floor, number one in 2011.
Amy recognised that it fitted her R&B and party brief and was delighted with the result.
Pitbull in the wrong folder
When the track was needed, the production team discovered Pitbull’s song inside Elaine Paige’s folder.
Scott apologised to Mr Worldwide for the filing error and wondered what Elaine had been doing with it.
The Music Police return
DCI Mills returned properly to duty after Scott’s absence.
The programme also attempted a recap of which earlier cases had been solved and which remained open.
Listeners submitted fresh evidence and corrections as the force rebuilt its case files.
Handover
