Helen from York turned 53 and revealed an unusual fear of the Angel of the North.
Driving past the sculpture made her heart race and left her feeling sick, so she preferred somebody else to be at the wheel.
Her children once woke her as the family car approached it because they knew how strongly she reacted.
Scott diagnosed a mild case of automatonophobia: fear of human-like statues or mannequins.
Helen liked Duran Duran, Take That, Rick Astley and cheesy pop.
Her first spin was Queen’s These Are the Days of Our Lives, released as a double A-side with Bohemian Rhapsody. Helen said she would have kept the other side and rejected it.
The second was Iyaz’s Replay. She rejected that too.
Her compulsory final song was Westlife’s cover of I Have a Dream.
Helen accepted it and requested the birthday balloon.
Jonathan Bailey
Jonathan Bailey joined Scott to discuss Fellow Travelers, Bridgerton and the forthcoming film version of Wicked.
He spoke about moving between very different worlds: a serious historical drama, the glossy romance of Bridgerton and the huge musical production of Wicked.
Scott asked about working with Ariana Grande and the excitement surrounding her return to music.
Jonathan described the scale of the film and the pressure of adapting a stage musical with such a committed fanbase.
Bridgerton and Fellow Travelers
Jonathan reflected on how Bridgerton had changed the visibility of his career and introduced him to an enormous worldwide audience.
He contrasted that with the emotional demands of Fellow Travelers, which explored a relationship shaped by politics, secrecy and prejudice.
Scott also joked that Jonathan had become a proper old-fashioned heartthrob.
Wicked and Bond
Jonathan confirmed that Wicked and the next series of Bridgerton were due later in the year.
Scott suggested he would make a convincing James Bond.
Jonathan declined the proposal and instead offered Scott the role of Moneypenny.
Handover
Scott handed over after directing listeners towards an extended Jonathan Bailey interview in the weekly podcast.
