The studio smell
Scott returned to an unpleasant smell that had developed inside the Radio 2 studio.
He prided himself on keeping the room fresh and regularly discussed scented candles, air fresheners and plug-ins.
The continuing odour became a running investigation, with the team trying to work out whether it came from equipment, furniture, food or another hidden source.
Listeners offered theories and cleaning advice while Scott worried that visiting guests would assume he was responsible.
The Birthday Game: Kitty
Kitty from Colchester celebrated with a Chinese meal and drinks with friends.
Scott correctly predicted that she would order chicken chow mein.
Kitty loved camp pop from the 1980s and 1990s, naming Scissor Sisters, Kylie Minogue and Britney Spears.
Her first spin was Rihanna featuring Jay-Z with Umbrella, number one during the extremely wet June of 2007.
Kitty liked it but chose to continue.
Her second spin was BWitched’s debut single C’est La Vie*, which had recently turned 25.
Kitty accepted it immediately.
Scott revealed that the unused third song would have been Whitney Houston’s I Wanna Dance with Somebody.
Kitty still believed B*Witched was the right choice.
New Madonna music
Scott introduced new music featuring Madonna and The Weeknd.
The release added to a busy Friday that also included listeners travelling to Epsom, Worcester races and early summer celebrations.
The Wonder Years
The Friday Wonder Years followed later in the programme, moving through successive years with large pop and dance records.

The available transcript does not preserve a complete final handover.
