Rosie admits to chewing a pen someone else had already gnawed and the ick spreads fast

The funniest moment of Danny Mylo and Rosie Madison's Halfway Wednesday show came when Rosie picked up a studio pen and realised, horrified, that someone else had already chewed it. "My teeth went, I didn't do that," she told Mylo, who then confessed he sometimes sticks pens in his ears instead. Listeners piled in with their own versions of the ick, from a wet toilet door handle to a warm toilet seat, with Tom's story of someone spitting on his lip mid-conversation crowned the ultimate "chewing someone's chew" by the pair.

Earlier in the show Mylo and Rosie struck a deal with a listener known only as Pilot James, who rang in fresh off a flight from Tenerife to swap a song request for an item from their "stock cupboard". Rather than snacks, James offered the black box flight data recorder from a plane that was being scrapped the next day, which the duo happily accepted in exchange for playing him Hard-fi's Living For The Weekend.

Scousey Sophie also had a go at the regular guessing game Give Us Another One, scoring five points despite confidently describing a carrot as "a button-up squash" and a duck's quack as "meow".

Mylo and Rosie confirmed they won't be on Early Breakfast as usual tomorrow, as they're covering for Matt and Mollie's afternoon show instead, with Vicky Hawkesworth stepping in to present Early Breakfast in their place.
