Mylo and Rosie swap a Linkin Park song for a gymnastics leotard in Mylo’s size

Radio 1 Early BreakfastRecap of the show on

Friday's early breakfast delivered one of the show's daftest Swap Exchanges yet. Listener Sparky Carl first offered his "interchangeable screwdriver set" to earn a play of Linkin Park's Numb, but Danny Mylo and Rosie Madison weren't impressed and pushed for something better. Carl eventually landed on a Lycra gymnastics leotard, "in Mylo's size", to seal the deal, prompting Rosie to ask what colour Mylo wanted before the song went on air.

The pair's "Early Breakfast Brain" quiz tripped up caller Chris from Stourbridge, who couldn't bring himself to say the obvious answers under early-morning pressure. Asked what you blow up at a birthday party, he said "the roof off the house" rather than a balloon, and when asked the biggest mountain in the world he went with "the one in the distance" instead of Everest. He still scored eight points and was told he'd "raised his standards" rather than the roof.

The weekend's all-important, fully invisible Team Captain crown went abroad this week. Despite a strong bid from Will, who turned 35 and still got up at 5am to listen in, the job went to a listener called Siri, messaging in from Oslo in Norway, with Rosie joking it would help "branch the show out a bit".

Elsewhere, producer Darcy's confession that she thought venison was a bird sparked a run of listener suggestions for words that don't match their meaning, including capybara as a caravan awning and Bichon Frise as a yoghurt.
