Will Manning was in the Capital Breakfast chair all week, standing in for Jordan North, Chris Stark and Sian Welby, who he confirmed were "back on Monday." He opened Wednesday's show with a moral dilemma straight from his own group chat, telling listeners a friend had pulled out of a paid-for Christmas trip and asked the others to cover their share. Six AMers flooded in with verdicts, with one voice note summing up the mood: "this person is taking the P1SS… they most certainly should pay their share."

Will also looked back fondly on Tuesday's interview with comedian Katherine Ryan, revealing that rather than plug her own new book, Firstborn Daughter, she spent much of the chat championing her friend John Richardson's book, Diaries of a Teenage Stand-Up Comedian. Will called it "a selfless comedian and friend right there."
Elsewhere, Weatherman GG returned with his daily "what to wear" guide, nailing Wednesday's forecast and promising listener Tilly he'd keep delivering his tips "forever." Will also had a laugh with Kemi over a mundane game guessing real versus fake advent calendars, with the pair left stunned by genuine "24 days of ugly medieval cats" calendars featuring cats painted with human faces. A listener called Megan was persuaded onto the show by her mum Katie to mark her 18th birthday, admitting her gift so far had been a packet of chewing gum.

Throughout the show, Will kept pushing the station's £666,000 Cash Call giveaway, with entries closing Friday at 5pm.
