Jenna Ortega and Amy Adams dropped by to talk their new film Clara and the Sun, but it was Ortega’s assistant who had Greg James in stitches. Ortega revealed Lizzie had been hyping up the Radio 1 appearance for weeks, singing the shows Unpopular Opinion theme tune during the press tour prep. Greg hauled Lizzie into the studio to prove it, and she duly belted out the theme live on air.

Amy Adams got a proper grilling over a scene in Clara and the Sun where she has to drown Ortega’s android character in a lake. “It’s a pleasure to be drowned by the way, by Amy Adams,” Ortega joked, with Adams admitting she’d been genuinely nervous about hurting her co-star during the stunt. The pair then took unpopular opinions from listeners, with Ortega declaring mint has no business anywhere except toothpaste, prompting a lively debate about whether that stance also ruled out mint tea (it didn’t, apparently, because “it’s good for digestion”).

Thirteen-year-old Ella also made a big impression, calling in to say Halloween beats Christmas and revealing she once dressed as Ortega’s Wednesday character for the iconic black dress dance scene. Ortega was visibly touched, telling Ella to “promise me you’ll continue to be fun” as she grows older.
Elsewhere, Greg ran his usual quiz won on points by Laura, though she finished behind rival Chloe, meaning Thursday’s final will be between Chloe and Rob. Rachel Chinnery also popped up to pick her song for the Ten Minute Takeover, following her Live Lounge performance the day before where she described bumping into Madonna on a night out in LA.
