Matt and Mollie relive Mollie’s Justin Timberlake “cage” balloon defeat, launch Battle Traitors game

Matt and MollieRecap of the show on

Matt Edmondson and Mollie King's Radio 1 show on Wednesday afternoon opened with Matt revealing he'd seen resurfaced footage from Mollie's childhood appearance on Saturday morning TV's Saturday Show, in which a 12-year-old Mollie tried to win a meeting with Justin Timberlake. Mollie recalled being placed in a cage with around 20 other children and competing in a balloon-blowing contest to reach the pop star, only to lose after a rival contestant began inflating her balloon early during an ad break. "She started a little bit here," Mollie said, adding she chose not to tell on the girl at the time.

The pair also ran their usual features, with Hannah taking on the Five to Two Quiz, naming letters, fears and phrases she could say both in bed and at work.

To mark the return of Celebrity Traitors on BBC One the following day, Matt and Mollie replaced their usual Battle Tracks slot with a one-off "Battle Traitors" game, in which each presenter tried to convince a listener named Ash that they were the "faithful" who would play his favourite song. Ash correctly identified Matt as the faithful, with Mollie revealed as the "traitor", prompting Matt to say: "This is why Mollie and I should be on Traitors." Mollie's Teaser, a game involving guessing songs from opposite titles, also ran, with a listener named Jordy taking the top spot on the podium.
