Jordan North, Chris Stark and Sian Welby hosted Capital Breakfast, with the trio agreeing to attempt "Locktober", a 30-day fitness and lifestyle challenge starting in October, after Stark set out its rules including no snooze button and 10,000 daily steps.
The show continued its search for pitches for Global's Make Some Noise Day, happening the following Friday. Having already heard ideas from other Capital presenters including Joe Hollywood and Sonny Jay, the hosts spoke to afternoon presenter Amy Vivian, who pitched "dance for donations", offering to keep dancing to listener-requested songs and moves until a fundraising target was hit. Louise from Kent also called in for a "single jingle" for her son Dan, while Welby continued his on-air campaign encouraging listeners to enter the Mr England competition after hearing from the contest's director, Angie, following low numbers of male entrants.
Jordan North shared an awkward story about an incident in his gym changing room, which listeners likened to a scene from Modern Family. The team also played their regular Rhyme Time and "Bong" games, with a Manchester caller reaching £1,250 before the bong sounded, and highlighted the station's £1.25 million cash call competition running until Friday. Sian Welby also read out playful "Jordy Banksy" style graffiti messages sent in by listeners, poking fun at celebrities including Lorraine Kelly and Vernon Kay.
The team also previewed a planned "Oktoberfest" themed show for Friday, complete with lederhosen and a call-out for a German celebrity guest.
