Monday morning all over again
Scott’s April Fools joke was to begin replaying Monday’s programme as though Tuesday had never arrived. Links, music and familiar moments returned in the same order, leading some listeners to believe their BBC Sounds app was stuck or that the station had made a serious technical mistake.
Messages arrived from people restarting devices, checking clocks and questioning whether they had somehow slept through an entire day. The longer the repeat continued, the more convincing the stunt became.
Scott eventually revealed that the repetition was deliberate. The team treated the confusion as a successful April Fools joke and spent the rest of the programme reading reactions from listeners who had fallen for it.
Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash
Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash joined Scott together, bringing the informal back-and-forth familiar from their family television appearances.
They discussed life at Pickle Cottage, the practical realities of a busy household and the difference between a home looking calm on television and the disorder required to keep children, pets and work moving.
One particularly specific piece of advice involved removing duck mess from a sofa. The story became one of the week’s callbacks, with Scott later summarising that Stacey and Joe had taught the programme “how to get duck poo out of a sofa”.
The conversation also covered how they divided jobs, which household projects Stacey became absorbed in and whether Joe knew when an apparently small idea was about to become a much larger renovation.
Their contrasting approaches supplied much of the humour: Stacey was willing to explain the logic behind each plan, while Joe described what it felt like to discover the plan after it had already begun.
Regular features
