Jo gets everything wrong
Jo Whiley had mentioned Scott’s pantomime on her evening programme.
Unfortunately, almost every detail was incorrect.
Jo believed he might be appearing in Cardiff, in Aladdin, as Widow Twankey.
Scott corrected the record.
He was appearing in Jack and the Beanstalk and returning as Mayor Mills.
He joked that Jo was always the dame and that the photograph he had sent her had clearly become her phone screensaver.
The Birthday Game: Lorna
Lorna turned 52 and worked in a school.
She had kept her birthday quiet because younger pupils became overexcited whenever celebrations were mentioned.
She had once lived near the Australian filming location for I’m a Celebrity and had attempted to get into the jungle while Noel Edmonds was appearing.
Lorna wanted upbeat pop, boy bands and 1980s music but no power ballads.
Her first spin was the Prodigy’s Breathe. She rejected it.
The second was Justin Bieber’s Sorry. She gambled again.
Her compulsory final song was Blue’s If You Come Back, number one in 2001.
Lorna was thrilled and compared the result with winning a major radio competition.
She had previously waited at a Blue stage door and was delighted that holding out for the third spin had worked.
The Christmas build-up
Scott continued embracing the arrival of festive music and Radio 2’s Christmas programming.
The programme also revisited boy-band nostalgia and the BBC documentary Boybands Forever.
Handover
Scott handed over after finally settling the question of Widow Twankey.
