Scott’s final show as a single man
Rylan arrived at the beginning of the programme and announced that he had organised Scott’s wedding pre-party.
Scott had not been told what would happen and admitted he disliked surrendering control of his own show.
Rylan dressed him in a sash and novelty glasses and described himself as Scott’s self-appointed best man and Eurovision husband.
Something cold, something new, something borrowed and something blue
Rylan challenged Scott to collect four items before four o’clock.
The traditional wedding rhyme was reworked into “something cold, something new, something borrowed and something blue”.
Special guests, listener contributions and surprises arrived across the two hours as Scott attempted to complete the set.
The programme also included wedding advice, including a listener who said people feeling faint should keep moving their big toes.
George and Daniel
Radio 2 superfans George and Daniel visited the studio after previously naming their wedding tables after the station’s presenters.
Scott and Rylan thanked them for coming and revisited their elaborate Radio 2-themed celebration.
The Birthday Game: Danny
Danny from Portsmouth turned 40 and planned dinner at home with friends and family.
He enjoyed Kylie, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Stereophonics but was open to most music apart from jazz.
His first spin was KWS’s Please Don’t Go. Danny rejected it.
The second was Adam and the Ants’ Stand and Deliver. He gambled again.
His compulsory final song was the Tamperer featuring Maya with Feel It, number one in 1998.
Danny accepted it as the strongest of the three and received the signed birthday card.
Handover
Scott finished his final afternoon programme before the wedding after Rylan’s full pre-party takeover.
