Scott became concerned after seeing Jo Whiley advertising household items on social media.
He called to check whether her account had been hacked.
Jo explained that she was simply decluttering after having her bathroom redone and was attempting to sell a pair of fluted bronze wall lights that no longer matched the new chrome fittings.
The lights came with bulbs and were described as being in excellent condition.
Scott turned the conversation into an impromptu shopping channel and invited listeners to contact Jo directly.
The Birthday Game: Lisa
Lisa from Milton Keynes turned 51.
She had spent around 14 months planning a Great Gatsby-themed party for the weekend.
Her outfit involved as much fringing, bling and feather decoration as possible, while the only thing missing was Leonardo DiCaprio.
Lisa invited Scott to attend as Jay Gatsby.
Her celebrity birthday twins included Matt Groening, Amber Riley, Jane Seymour, Megan Thee Stallion and Galileo Galilei.
The game gave Lisa a number-one record to accompany the party and its deliberately extravagant dress code.
The Music Police moves early
Scott shifted the Music Police to 2.30 to make room for Ella Henderson later in the programme.
Listeners complained that the change disrupted the routine they had built around the feature, but the force continued working through the week’s mystery.
Ella Henderson
Ella Henderson joined Scott with her Rudimental collaboration Alibi.
She reflected on experiencing enormous success while still very young, including leaving The X Factor and releasing Ghost at 18.
Ella said that looking back made her realise how much pressure had arrived before she had fully worked out who she was as an artist.
Your lyrics, different song
Scott challenged Ella to sing the lyrics of one well-known song using the melody of another.
The feature tested whether she could ignore the tune naturally associated with the words and remain committed to the replacement melody.
Ella approached the challenge like a professional vocalist but still found the musical interference difficult to block out.
