Another fake boyfriend
Chris returned to his Valentine’s boyfriend service after the first attempt had left Helen’s sister entirely unconvinced. Sarah’s mother had placed her on dating websites, recruited the wider family to help and even explored a match involving her son’s girlfriend’s brother. Sarah was not actively searching for a relationship; she simply wanted the questions to stop.
This time Chris abandoned the gradual approach and introduced himself directly as Ben, Sarah’s new boyfriend. He told her mother that the position had finally been filled and spoke with enough confidence for the story to survive the call.
Sarah’s mother said she was pleased and looked forward to meeting him. The result gave Chris his first apparent success, although Sarah would now have to maintain a relationship that existed only on the telephone.
Wednesday’s choices
The song contest returned with Scott and Chris again choosing one record each before a listener settled the argument. The feature still had no agreed name, but its rules were already generating strong reactions from people who believed the wrong banger had been denied an afternoon play.
Scott also admitted that he had forgotten to book the woman from Take Me Out whose distinctive clap would have fitted perfectly into “Bamboléo”. The regular Wednesday song went ahead without her, while listeners donated enough to push Greg James’s Sport Relief total beyond £200,000.
Glasgow with Greg
On day three of the Gregathlon, Greg finished a 40-mile bike ride in Glasgow and received a painful massage before beginning his run. He described a large man working on his groin while Scott attempted to provide motivation from the studio.
Alice Levine joined Real or No Real, considering silent discos, unfortunate acronyms and other stories while Greg continued the challenge. The scale of the donations gave him a welcome lift, but he still had two complete triathlons and two radio shows left to complete.
