Bobby narrowed the possibilities to a Mini Metro or Ford Fiesta and correctly selected a Mark II Fiesta.
Rebecca had driven it around 100 yards before pulling onto a main road, crashing and writing off both her car and the other vehicle while the seller’s house remained visible.
The car had cost £650.
Ron the Beetle
Jane from Swanwick in Derbyshire was 52 and had owned a metallic-blue 1970s car with its engine in the back.
Bobby correctly identified a Volkswagen Beetle.
The car was called Ron, cost £120 and had been bought by Jane’s father for her 18th birthday.
The heating remained on all year and the car regularly smelled of burning electrics, but Jane loved it.
The Ford Anglia
Malcolm from Suffolk described a cream car with a dark olive-green roof and an unusual rear window that sloped inwards.
Bobby guessed a Ford Classic.
The actual answer was a Ford Anglia Super, meaning she had come extremely close.
Malcolm bought it for around £180 in the mid-1970s.
It lasted only eight months before the floor fell through.
Scott declared two correct answers out of three an extraordinary performance and listeners demanded that Mystic Bobbie become a regular feature.
The Birthday Game: Kelly
Kelly from West Yorkshire turned 47 and was preparing for a caravan weekend with family and friends.
She enjoyed supernatural television including Supernatural, The Vampire Diaries and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Kelly requested 1980s pop, R&B or early-1990s music and named Nik Kershaw, Five Star and Kylie Minogue.
Her first spin was Icona Pop featuring Charli XCX with I Love It, number one in 2013. Kelly rejected it as insufficiently nostalgic.
The second was Pet Shop Boys’ It’s a Sin, number one in 1987.
Despite matching her preferred decade, Kelly gambled again.
Her compulsory final song was La Roux’s Bulletproof, number one in 2009.
Kelly accepted it because the production still had a strong 1980s influence.
The Wonder Years
The Friday Wonder Years was devoted entirely to the 1980s.
