He remembered waiting to perform during the first live show when celebrity guests walked through the contestants’ corridor.
On seeing Jason Donovan, Rylan excitedly told everyone it was Darren Day.
Jason looked him up and down without correcting him and continued walking.
The following day, Rylan’s mother phoned after hearing Jason discuss the incident on his radio show.
Rylan initially concluded that “Darren Day” had been rude before discovering that he had addressed the wrong man.
The air-fryer update
The programme returned to people singing into air-fryer drawers.
More listeners had tested the acoustics and sent reports from their kitchens.
Scott treated the appliance as both a cooking device and a low-budget vocal booth.
The Birthday Game: Kerry
Kerry from Newcastle upon Tyne had taken the day off for her birthday.
She planned to celebrate with karaoke at a social club alongside her mother and family.
Scott gave her three number ones from 25 November and asked her to choose the soundtrack to the celebration.
