Beccy predicts Justin Bieber’s new song and Scott makes a plea for eyebrows
Scott began with the aftermath of his Mother’s Day present. Having rushed his mum into an eyebrow tint without asking about the colour, he had left her with an extremely dark monobrow, then tried to make amends by arranging a call from JLS, only for her to rank Take That and Celine Dion above them while they waited on the line.
The main challenge involved Justin Bieber’s unheard new single, Boyfriend. Nobody had the lyrics or music before its release, so Scott, Beccy and Chris were each attempting to predict what it would sound like, in the spirit of their earlier guesses at Lady Gaga’s Born This Way.
Beccy went first, deciding Bieber was now famous enough to recycle an old melody with new lyrics. Her version portrayed him as a player with too many girlfriends, a line about not remembering all nine girls from a weekend, and a rhyme that concluded one of them might have been called Paul.
Scott’s own prediction was even stranger: a deep-voiced spoken introduction in which Bieber wanted to get “inside” another man’s head, followed by a chorus built around borrowing the boyfriend’s eyes. Chris and Beccy enjoyed the song, but were alarmed enough by its premise to make sure Scott explained it again.
Away from the recording attempts, the programme checked in on the Sport Relief treadmill activity and Scott’s own increasingly sweaty contribution. It was a very recognisable Mills show construction, moving from a small domestic disaster to an unnecessary pop experiment and treating both with exactly the same seriousness.
