Scott gets Beccy back over “Go on, pigs”
Beccy returned after cutting her hand on broken glass, arriving stitched up but otherwise ready for the show. The team quickly picked up the unresolved business from her Alan Titchmarsh appearance, where she had apparently produced the perfect “Go on, pigs” interruption for the audience recording.
Scott revealed that the impressive evidence was faked. The team had edited the phrase into a real clip to make it sound as though Beccy had bravely shouted it from the crowd, and she had believed it, much to Scott and Chris’s delight.
Their punishment was immediate. Beccy was told she was being put through to the BBC’s director-general and, in the panic of the moment, began trying to recite the entire Archers sequence down the phone instead of making normal conversation.
The supposed call was another stunt, with Scott’s voice impersonating Alan Titchmarsh and the team once again exploiting Beccy’s willingness to accept a very odd premise under pressure. She was left realising that neither the television recording nor the director-general call had been genuine.
It was a show built around a joke becoming much larger than its original clip. The words “Go on, pigs” had gone from an Archers line to a mission, a fake audience moment and a disastrous phone call, all while Beccy found herself at the centre of it.
