Scott makes the world’s shortest download
This was a deliberately tiny edition of the Scott Mills Daily. Rather than a full programme recap, the download lasted just 58 seconds.
Scott used the brief slot to celebrate the start of the weekend. The energy came from a Bollywood track, which gave him little need to build a conventional feature around it.
Instead, he shouted enthusiastically over the music. The joke was the contrast between the grand, exuberant backing track and the almost comically short amount of programme available.
The download did not try to manufacture a guest interview, game or listener storyline. Its whole purpose was to be a quick burst of noise and Friday-style release.
It was therefore one of the archive’s most compact entries, but not an accidental one. Scott treated its brevity as the feature, delivering a miniature celebration rather than a cut-down normal show.
