Bradley Cooper meets Scott
Scott arrived at Friday’s show tired and apologetic about the standard of It’s Only Bley Friday. Listeners were invited to be constructive, although Scott was clearly hoping that a few would simply say it had been fine.
He had met Bradley Cooper to discuss Limitless. The interview covered the actor’s work, the stories people tell in interviews and the way a simple answer could become much harder if someone tried to invent an impressive anecdote.
Bradley came across as relaxed and funny, which made Scott’s enthusiasm about the meeting easy to understand. The chat gave the programme a proper film-star moment amid a week mostly dominated by radio in-jokes.
Scott also prepared to appear on a television cooking programme with newsreader Kate Gerbeau. His principal qualification was chopping onions, so he was relieved to be teamed with someone who could actually make the leek risotto.
The programme also flagged the Comic Relief music documentary and the approaching Red Nose Day. Scott’s exhausted Friday energy did not stop him moving rapidly from Bradley Cooper to cooking nerves and a full catalogue of downloadable show material.
