Highlights from the show
May Bank Holiday morning 2005 and Andy Parfitt for some reason only known to himself, had decided to give drivetime sportmonkey and 5 Live star Chappers his own three hour football show with his Breakfast partner in crime Comedy Dave. You can kind of call it ‘the building of the bridges’ between waking up with Moyles, and going home with Mills.
Anyway let’s got on with the review. Chappers and Dave realised that they weren’t the only people up at this godforsaken time and they had a couple of texts in from people doing their first A Level exams today. Boooo! Since the last time Chappers and Dave were on, somebody has changed Chappers’ name to Vladmir Schmider but thankfully Chappers stopped it just in time. The awful man who did this was the producer of ‘the Scott Mills experience’ as Dave lovingly said. So that unfortunately means no Vladmir and Dave today.
Covers Day
Today is "Cover’s Day" on Radio 1 so Chappers and Dave had the honour of playing the greatest cover of all time- yes, DJ Sammy covering "Why?" by Annie Lennox. Agree with Dave when he said "Quite apt".
Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Sunderland
They were given out tickets to Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Sunderland and the point of the game was for people to identify the track from which Sunderlandians (in the crowd) were saying. Winners included a very happy Amy from Glasgow, Jenny from somehwre else. A very cocky Mark got the answer wrong to one of the Big Weekend competitions- the only person do that throughout the day! They also had some great Live acts from the last couple of one big weekends including the White Stripes, Ash and Joss Stone.

Orlando Bloom
They were lots of "What on earth’s?" and "Why is he meeting you two plonkers?" texts coming in about Chappers and Dave meeting the Hollywood celebrity that is Orlando Bloom. Laura was apparently very keen to present today’s show but she was denied it in case "she gave Orlando some disease". They were both very shocked that Orlando came in on a Bank Holiday Morning- and Orlando was too. He is knackered after all the press coverage he is doing at the moment. He talked about the amazing time he had doing a Ridley Scott epic and how great a director Ridley was. Orlando talked about how tedious it was filming all the Battle scenes. Dave thought he had seen Orlando hanging around Pizza Express in Hampstead- but it wasn’t him (suprisingly). Dave and Chappers managed to get out of him;
He would love to be in Corrie (if the price is right)
He would like to go back to Kent.
He wouldn’t say who his best ‘onscreen’ kiss was.
If Orlando wasn’t famous he would love to sit outside a coffee shop in Soho.
His favourite biscuit is Jaffa cakes
He loves tea.
There was quite a funny moment where Orlando rang up Chantelle in Manchester to wish her Happy Birthday- but she wasn’t in! So Orlando had to leave a answer phone message on her phone!
