  1. This could be something... I think it's the first time in a long while that I'm waiting for the songs to be played, because I'm so glued to the radio that I can't even go to the bathroom.
  2. Well, this will take a while... Edit: Doesn't this gong look a bit like Wimbledon Women's Trophy? Maybe they're at Wimbledon.
  3. This is so brilliant. Grimmy's now saying he's packed 6 T-Shirts for this. And they have sleeping bags with them.
  4. Maybe you can sense Greg's thoughts. Come on, use this connection now!
  5. Okay here come the clues: - they're in a building; - not a hospital/firehouse. That's it for now
  6. Look at the twitter video that Greg posted - it's definitely indoors and somewhere clean/quite. My bet is on old BBC building and that's purely because I remember Greg doing a streak of challenges that could cause panic (touch a massive, hairy spider and sth like that).
  7. As OhhErr said - they haven't done this before, so it's not that. They're probably going to some sort of location as Greg spoke to Scott and Chris from a vehicle (didn't even say what sort of vehicle). It's also end of term themed. No more clues, not long now to see what it actually is. Also OhhErr - big ups for that. Won't be the same, but hey, Breakfast Show deserves to be brilliant too.
  8. I'm not good with changes and all these features that Greg's going to bring back this week just make me quite weepy. I love listening to R1 in the afternoons, both Scott and Greg make all the woes of the day disappear with their kindness and silliness. I know that Breakfast Show is massive and Greg deserves doing it, but at the same time, can't help but feeling quite sad. I won't be able to listen to Greg everyday, as I am now. And not having Chris Smith 'with the news' on with Greg isn't helping at all. So it's all really bittersweet for me.
  9. Jordan's in for Scott next week! And Dev and Alice are in for Greg.
  10. As if being a R1 DJ isn't a dream career. I'm not saying - you're bound to be that for the rest of your life, do just that, but it definitely sounds a bit weird to me. As if he's a radio DJ accidentally and would drop it if his other ideas kick off. Both Greg and Scott have always said that working at R1 is a dream come true and they feel so lucky to be able to do it. Maybe I'm being a bit harsh, but this is how I perceive this piece.
  11. Also, why did they change The Greatest Hits format? Now it's just an hour of 'old' hits and then they just play all the usual, everyday songs. It's a bit pointless, because the show is still directed towards playing loads of music, not many talking bits. When Matt first started the Greatest Hits Show it used to last an hour, but it was at the end of the proper show so it sort of made sense. Either come back to this format - normal show and then an hour of hits, or stay with the 3 hour long Greatest Hits Show.
  12. OhhErr - thanks so much for such a detailed answer! Great work. There was The BBC Introducing Stage, it was just slightly neglected this year as they didn't play any sets from there on radio (promise, that's my last compliant!). As to the video - just a couple of IG stories yesterday. Haven't seen any in full.
  13. Yaas for gender diversity, no for lack of genre diversity from me. And I'm not criticising any of the acts, all big names and all did very well, plus that's a matter of personal taste and you can't please everyone. It's just the repetitiveness that I dislike. Correct me if I'm wrong, but is this the first Monday after Big Weekend when brekkie presenter didn't do their show from the location?
  14. Okay, so now they're playing Shawn Mendes live. Maybe it's really got to do sth with the probability of swearing from an artist. It is a bit of a bummer this year in terms of acts as well. I didn't feel as hyped for this year as I did in previous years. They didn't get any big bands - which should have be an obvious booking for a festival. They got Bastille and put them on The Other Stage, no band on The Main Stage. Also this shuffling between stages is quite weird. Bastille used to play The Main Stage previously when the line-up was much busier. The Main Stage is so monotonous genre-wise, plenty of pop, scarcely any indie/rock/anything else. Don't get me wrong, it's still great and all, just not up to the usual standard. [EDIT:] Forgot about Thirty Seconds to Mars and Years&Years. That's two then and still not closing any of the days so it's a bit different I suppose.
  15. I didn't get a chance to listen to them yesterday, but even if they do - it's still very little. A massive shame, I've always liked listening to the comments in between songs. This year it's mostly music R1 plays everyday and 2-3 songs from artist's set. Also, there was no mash-up this year. I'm not sure if they ditched it last year or just now. Again, not a fan of that.
  16. Why did they stop playing full sets live on radio except for the opening acts? I thought it might be because of the swearing, but then they still played opening acts live (and in full). It's a bit disappointing tbh.
  17. Same story today with Jordan co-hosting The Greatest Hits. Jordan's explaining to Maya all about his wedding DJ friend, Maya every 3 s: aha, yeah, okay. Gosh, just be quiet for a bit. I think that's the main problem with her as a DJ, those little details are very important to make a good show.
  18. Yeah, pretty good. I like Mollie, but I still can't get used to this format of Matt and a celeb co-host. And if I had the choice, I preferred Matt with Example. Still - a decent show, they've played 'license to spell' and talked about Mollie's weird sweating. Oh and I don't know if they'll make it a regular feature (hopefully not, not my cup of tea) - ever since Matt got a co-host they tend to tease a couple of next songs with some sort of pun or reference. It feels a bit forced to me.
  19. Okay, so Scott and Chris are playing their usual bangers game today, but when they were in for brekkie last time, they did Grimmy's game (his choice or celeb gamble). Not complaining though.
  20. Also, I think it's worth to point out that in the past it was Cel in for Greg and Jordan in for Adele and now it's the other way round. A tiny bit of an upgrade for Jordan!
  21. Well, Chris doesn't cover Scott's show by himself so I wouldn't say she will.
  22. I've just wanted to say the same thing - Katie reminds me a lot of Adele. Not only do they sound similar, but I'd also say that they've got pretty similar style of presenting. Rather on the 'standard' side, no wacky features but solid, good, technical presenting. I'm a massive fan of Adele because she's such a lovely person. Katie sounds so much better than Maya. It would be really lovely to have her every week.
  23. They didn't play the full half an hour though, did they? Just a couple of songs. Still the last half an hour of the show is a massive waste of time, Real or no Real was so good - still can't believe they ditched it.
  24. It all started with this little piece of magic: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DKbQFMOEFTs And now they're doing it with Stefflon Don's name because, well it just sounds great.
  25. I think I'm enjoying the "what day is Stefflon Don day" a bit too much Every time Scott says it with NZ accent I'm in tears. Also, loved how they were trolling Jordan today (again). This time it was the way he pronounces the word 'jacuzzi'. Very 'Scott and Chris ' style - heartwarming and lovely. I don't think many people could pull it off.
