  1. I have similar problems with transport. The trains in both London and Brighton are now £1.50. It wasn't that long ago that I could get the bus for 40p in London and 50p in Brighton. There are cheaper bus fares in London if I get an Oyster pre-pay card, but I use the bus and the tram so rarely that it's hardly worth it. Every Sunday I have to get the train to Brighton in the evening. There is almost always engineering work. Even when there isn't, the trains on sunday nights are about 1 an hour, and very very crowded. They manage to make a 34 minute journey (the fastest time Southern can do East Croydon to Brighton) last over an hour, or even over 2 hours if they decide to go via Littlehampton (a long way out of the way). They also do 10 or 15 minute stops at all the stations, for no apparent reason. I sometimes wonder if it's just so the driver can have a cigarette or take a leak or something at every stop... Here ends my train rant. They drive me mad. But soon I won't have to do the sunday night any more. Parts of the London to Brighton line are the most popular train route in the UK, and yet the service is so ****ing ****!
  2. Eek - they played It's Chico Time on the chart. Liked the comment about the shark swimming though. If anyone over the age of 11 bought that, they should be shot. Seriously. Incidentally, no one here bought that song did they..?
  3. Oh dear... I've got 2 months and 1 day till I turn 18. But there's nothing I can really do for it except maybe go on a pub crawl. So I'm not too worried. Bang in the middle of my exams.... Yay my neighbour just phoned me and asked if I wanted some dinner there, so I don't need to worry about finding something to eat tonight. Brilliant. Better not eat any more chocolate though, or else I won't be able to eat dinner.
  4. I stopped using 'text talk' when I was about 13 or 14, when I got really fast at typing. Also I type school work, and I can't think of much worse than handing in an essay with text talk in it. The only text talk I use is "lol" - can't really think of any better way of expressing that, because "that was funny" would just sound weird. Glad you like my name
  5. Hi lilychick I only joined here a week ago, or maybe less. Welcome
  6. I wish I could say the same, but I gotta be in school by 10, which means getting a train, so I gotta be up by about 7am. It'll be Chris Moyles waking me up though. And I'll need to set a proper loud alarm, to actually get me up on time. All this week, I've been kinda dozing in the morning while listening to Scott Mills -- meant I had some interesting dreams!
  7. I can't wait until May, because the new Snow Patrol album is coming out on 1st May. Then again, I have exams scarily soon, so I need as much time as possible. Looking forward to this week's shows, I'll listen to as much of it as I can what with the dodgy reception on the London-Brighton train line.
  8. Oh, and it was 1998: I was right
  9. I feel so old, listening to the Retro, and remembering all this music so well even though it was about 8/9 years ago. Anyone else feel old?
  10. Also try Google Image Searching "JK and Joel"... some strange photos there.
  11. "Stop right now, thank you very much, I need somebody with the human touch" - I know all the words still, found one of my Spice Girls tapes the other day. I remember playing this in this house just after we moved in, moved in December 19th 1997, so it's gotta be 97 or 98. Wow, I have a good memory...
  12. I say 1998. Spice Girls... been a while.
  13. Put "Jono" into Googlism.com. It's all a bit offensive. I've seen the failure thing, it's good. Gotta love the Kooks, I was dancing round my kitchen on my own hoping my neighbours couldn't see.
  14. 'funkyseaweed' brings up no results...... I wonder why. Could also try some Googlisms, they're always fun. www.googlism.com Yay! I love this song (The Kooks - She Moves In Her Own Way - on Radio 1 now)
  15. Wow... how do I compete with that?! Are photos necessary? I don't have an avatar because I can't find a photo of myself that I actually like. Jono, is your avatar Otis the Aardvark off CBBC years ago? Looks like it...
  16. Oh, I have a stupid amount of work to do. Gotta go in to school on Tuesday to do revision in school - actually, I have to on wednesday, thursday and friday as well. I might see if I can just not go to some of it though. I can't focus for that long and I have to commute each day because my friends are so unreliable so I've got nowhere to stay which sucks. Trains are so expensive and I hate early mornings, haven't even got Scott in the mornings to get me awake this week. I'm losing my voice today. Might be hayfever, or I could be getting a cold. Loving Snow Patrol though, can't wait for the new album. It was really sunny this morning, even prompted me to go running, but now it's all cloudy and looks like it's going to rain.
  17. I just looked at my spam folder, and it appears a lot of people think I'm a bloke... Why is almost all spam targeted at blokes? And why do I get so much spam? I get about 30 a day.
  18. Really? Lol don't worry about it. Although online I do just assume people's gender even if there are no clues. If you'd met me in person and then got my gender wrong, I might have been upset. Apparently it's a sign of spending too much time online if you don't know the genders of your 5 closest friends because you've never asked... thankfully I haven't quite reached that stage yet.
  19. Lol. I found a convenience store that was open, and I got a microwave roast.. I feel like such a loner! There was also a noodle bar open. I didn't quite go into the town centre, so I don't know what else was open, but there weren't as many people about. Quite a lot of cars on the flyover though, so they might have been going to Purley Way where the big Ikea type shops are, I'd imagine they'd be open.
  20. So... what does this competition involve? I'm a girl by the way... someone on the BBC forum got my gender wrong the other day. I guess it's not obvious from my display name.
  21. Anyone actually like Avril Lavigne? I was singing along... not so sure I like it. Sk8r Boi sucked, but I liked Complicated when I was 14. Yeah, Jono, they could use 'poultry', but how many people would be able to spell it right? Unless the computer recognised "Pole-tree" or something.

    Happy Easter!

Ohh... that's harsh but funny. I actually never believed in the Easter bunny -- I think my parents never really bothered with it.
  23. The Maccabies - Latchmere - quality song. Ordered the single from Rough Trade but not sure when it'll arrive because of this whole Bank Holiday business.
  24. Lush? As in that place that reeks of soap about a mile off? There's one in London Victoria Station next to the International Cheese Shop, and it actually makes the whole area of the station stink, and it's suffocating. There's one in Croydon now too. I've never been in there, the smell is too strong... I might go out and look for some bread though (obviously not in Lush).

    Easter Eggs

I have 4, and I feel sick already... haven't actually tackled any of the eggs yet, just some of the sweets with them. Unfortunately, I forgot to go shopping, so have very little here to eat except easter eggs...
