Just heard a 2016 review/2017 teaser promo this moring and Rachelle Abbott (The female heard regulaly in the power intros) was voicing it. Highly indicates that the old voiceover's will be gone next year.

He sounds like someone who would commit to being on 1Xtra as a voiceover, sounds very celebrity like.

I heard another one during Cel's show today at 4:30pm although they went into a song with a power intro after 'Final Song' finished, the free-standing ident on Dev's show was basically the same ident used at the start of the Best New Pop show, it means awkwardly there is rather a long gap between the end of the '1' and 'Where It Begins'. I mean surely they could have shortened a bit? I guess these free-standing idents will stay with the power intros but their use will be reduced significantly and heard only occasionally now?

Totally agree. Radio 1 are really starting to put in the effort into getting the new imaging fully phased in, quite a few older songs which I haven't heard in ages getting the power intro treatment. Seems like some of the new imaging has crept into Matt Edmondson's show, I think he and Grimmy are the only two using newer imaging at the moment.

Apologies for the slow updates recently, I have been finishing the current new set off with just a few stuff left! The power intro stuff will be split in two parts because I'm lazy but hopefully I will do a combined very soon!

I'm pretty sure one of the females that featured in the 2012-2014 package is in the new 2016/17 imaging..

Not relevant but On The Sly are behind the Christmas Mixes imaging again. It's a shame they don't promote enough of the proper new imaging as they would work on things like this.

Think this might help me with my montage project! I don't think I originally heard the 'Sorry' power intro on-air before they released this demo so it's good to see unreleased intro in this. Most of these intros heard have already gone out on air and heard regularly although it's good to see some power intros which was originally made with the new voiceovers yet got a edit with old voiceovers, the 'Side By Side' one springs to mind.

So with Radio 1 starting to roll out their new imaging I thought it would be a great time to make a montage of the new imaging. I am going to cover power intros, sweepers, lots of stuff from Breakfast and Cel Spellman's Best New Pop/Most Played shows. I'm not going to release everything at once but I will create a checklist below on things I will promise to do. Saying that though, Grimmy has had some name-check sweepers today with the new voiceovers and a couple of new mini sweepers I found in The Nixtape and the start of Matt's show today. I think the news intros will be updated on probably the 2nd January but I just guessing on that one.

She presents BBC Introducing shows for BBC Radio Norfolk and has occasionally stod in for Huw Stephens and Phil Taggart.

Ooh that's a very good variety this year and I think one of the better Chrsitmas schedules that Radio 1 have put out. Looking forward to Scott's and Chris's Chrsitmas Bangers show and the return of the Chart Of The Year however surely it's and end of an era with Scott & Chris not on Chrsitmas breakfast.

There are going to be some major changes to the BBC Radio 1Xtra schedule from January as announced yesterday. http://www.bbc.co.uk/mediacentre/latestnews/2016/ace-1xtra-live-lounge Trevor Nelson moves to weekends at 4pm-7pm. Saturday's will be dedicated to current RnB while Sunday's will all be about classic RnB. Ace moves from weekend breakfast (6am-10am) to Trevor Nelson's slot at weekdays, 10am-12:45pm and will be taking over the Live Lounge. Mim Shaikh is going to be the new weekend breakfast show host on Saturday/Sunday at 6am-10am. Twin B will host a Monday night show from 10pm-1am. DJ Target now permanently replaces MistaJam's Monday-Thursday night slot at 7pm-10pm, he will continue to host the Friday/Saturday night shows. Monki retains her very early Sunday show from 1am-4am. Opinions are welcome on these changes. For me, I find it weird that Twin B is going to a nightly show....

One thing I'm questioning is whether Scott will get these type of imaging when Grimmy is off, I hope he's not stuck with the boring, dull sounds.

Radio 1 is on fire recently with imaging. First Cel's new shows, now this! This is a thousand times better than the old imaging, the old breakfast show imaging sounded very old-deers like and didn't sound like something that should be sounded on a breakfast show. Some new ID's creeping in as well which is giving a further teaser into the new main imaging.

It's not her. It's the female VO in the Residency show promoting the BBC iPlayer Radio app.

I'm here for the ride guys! Brilliant to hear that we are getting closer to a full package of new imaging is coming. Based on what we have been hearing, it looks like the V2 NMF voiceovers will be taking over full time and the 'Where It Begins' tagline will remain. Hopefully we stick to one set of voiceovers rather than a mix of the three we are hearing so far. Cel's show has had some fantastic new imaging rolled in with the new voiceovers in it, some of it sounds very commercial/Capital like but it doesn't matter because they are amazing. On the subject of the voiceovers, I've identified that one of the new voiceovers is Rachelle Abbott who is the voiceover on the Residency show. I haven't identified the rest of the V2 voiceovers though, I think 3 of them are new while one of them sounds like a female voiceover from the 2012-14 package. 2017 sounds like the year of #WhereNewVoiceoversBegin!

New imaging on Cel's Best New Pop show, heard some more NMF voiceovers on it including the 'Where It Begins' tagline.

I'm no expert at controls at R1, but for me it sounds like the TOTH/BOTH songs are pre-mixed on a Friday and the DJ's only have to press one button to play those three songs. Weekends however seems like a mix of one-piece pre-mixed songs and some where the DJ's have to press a button for each song. I've noticed R1 have started using shorter power intros for some songs, 'Shout Out To My Ex' and a redone 'Sweet Lovin' power intros come to my mind.
