  1. Apparently, it's due to a joke about Essex girls made during the LOLathon. http://radiotoday.co.uk/2017/04/bbc-radio-1s-scott-mills-under-investigation/
  2. I'm not sure really.. See these points: So it looks like the 2 extended Newsbeat bulletins will stay but perhaps points 4.35 and 4.36 suggest the 12:45pm-1pm bulletin could be moved?
  3. We've been discussing this a bit in the Chatbox but this does deserve it's own thread. OFCOM, the new regulators for the BBC have announced a new draft operating license which sets out some rules about the standards on it's programming and it's competition. These changes apply to BBC Radio 1/2 as well so here's a rundown on some of the changes.. A new peak-time requirement for a longer news programme on weekdays, the 1 hour requirement is staying though and there will be still 2 extended bulletins. There will be more focus on emerging and new UK acts and the music output will be more distinct from other broadcasters. The music played during the daytime will be focused from those in the UK. R1 will still be required to broadcast a certain amount of Specialist Music each year. There will be a bigger broader range of music played on R1/R2. This means the playlist could be set for more changes in terms of it's size. More than 40 documentaries will need to be made each year. https://radiotoday.co.uk/2017/03/ofcom-publishes-draft-bbc-operating-licence/ https://www.ofcom.org.uk/__data/assets/pdf_file/0033/99519/bbc-performance-consultation.pdf (Start at Page 25 for all the juicy information)
  4. Annoyingly, Alice Levine is still using old imaging. I mean seriously....
  5. Anything of a Wiki is never trustable...
  6. Good, now all they need to do is change the TOTD ID's and Newsbeat voiceovers.
  7. Although the trouble is that Greg James is still using the old voiceovers on his shows, surely this week is the time he will change and he had a promo for Dev Patel with the new voiceovers.
  8. Who I hope to be there: Christine & The Queens Niall Horan Sigala Sean Paul Dua Lipa Becky Hill Ray BLK Rag'n'Bone Man Little Mix The 1975 Ed Sheeran RAYE Tinie Tempah Bruno Mars JP Cooper The XX M.O Izzy Bizu MØ Chance The Rapper Charli XCX Foo Fighters The Chainsmokers Don't think all of these will be there but I'm hopeful at most of them will...!
  9. I'm guessing the Pure Jingles package will be dead by next week giving the fact that they nearly have completed the roll out after 100 years of easing the new set.
  10. Trouble is though Clara is still using the old set so it still sounds inconsistent. I wonder what they will do to the power intros with the old voices in them. Will they modify them to use newer voices or not use them all together and remove them?
  11. Adele Roberts is now using the new imaging and has a new name-check on her ID's now. I have to say I don't think I'm going to get as bored with the new imaging as quickly as the current set which starting to die now. The idents are great as well as the beds and everything just feels so much fresher than the current lot which doesn't get that wow factor compared to the new set. I wasn't sure about the Chris Eubank/Andi Peters male voiceover at first but I quite like him and has really got a different feel compared to the others, I don't need to describe the other voiceovers though as they are great!
  12. He probably meant 'busy' but it sounded like he said 'pissy' after listening to it a couple of times. After listening to the bed it makes me wonder why they couldn't turn the volume down on it although presumably the DJ's have no control of it, hence the change of bed.
  13. If it sounded like that all the time then I would have accepted the current set longer! I think Dev might be in trouble with someone who has produced the new ID's and someone at R1 overall. He had a bit of a moment this morning when he played a new ID with a dubstep music background and described it as, 'A bit pissy' so stopped and switched to an old ID halfway thorough. If you want to hear the incident again then listen to this mornings show and skip to 47:12.
  14. ''R.I.P 2016'' WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. Today was a bank holiday so not really a great time to launch, think we might have to wait next week when they have the normal slots back next week.
  16. You beat me to the montage. Don't worry I'll have the ultimate montage this year! An interesting couple of weeks ahead, wonder if the old imaging will be fully go by the time January finishes?
  17. If it's also 'the freshest chart around' why doesn't it include streaming data in it? Not really fresh otherwise isn't it...
  18. I suppose it couldn't be any worse than a chart show not being live, the mess that is the Big Top 40 WITH MARVIN HUUUMMES. Utterly messy with it being voicetracked, I mean why would want to bloody well voicetrack a Christmas Chart show?
  19. Grimmy's Nixtape is also pre-recorded and voicetracked in some areas, he's said the same message everytime he goes into Newsbeat.
  20. Just heard a 2016 review/2017 teaser promo this moring and Rachelle Abbott (The female heard regulaly in the power intros) was voicing it. Highly indicates that the old voiceover's will be gone next year.
  21. He sounds like someone who would commit to being on 1Xtra as a voiceover, sounds very celebrity like.
  22. 6:30am for the free-standing ident, not sure about the old Breakfast ID though.
  23. I heard another one during Cel's show today at 4:30pm although they went into a song with a power intro after 'Final Song' finished, the free-standing ident on Dev's show was basically the same ident used at the start of the Best New Pop show, it means awkwardly there is rather a long gap between the end of the '1' and 'Where It Begins'. I mean surely they could have shortened a bit? I guess these free-standing idents will stay with the power intros but their use will be reduced significantly and heard only occasionally now?
