Yeah the 1tros were the best got to admit, back when the station had a unified sonic branding! As far as Pure Tonic go I think it was to do with the fact they got took over by "Reel World".

Totally agree with you there! Was a much better strapline. I think this new package will really grow on me! as far as i know there was new Entertainment beds commissioned with this package as well.

It's not bad actually! A little bit gutted that the "Listen Watch Share" strap line has gone though. I'm interested to hear how they use it in the 12:45 newsbeat program!

I'm really looking forward to hearing what R1/1X have chosen this time, although I've got to admit I have found myself humming along to the current package over recent weeks before it goes... I think it's growing on me? Also I'm quite liking the sound of Mike and Katie on the Station ID's during My Playlister today!

It would appear that they have now dropped the "Watch From 6" aspect of the chart all together. Can only think that the moving of Dan and Phil is the reason, but saying that they used to have the Watch From 6 before Dan and Phil joined.

Aha oh well! Yeah i know, was a bit sad to be honest. I'm guessing they're still recording some of the ID's? Dev doesn't seem to have any of the new voices, the Official Number 1 trail only got updated this afternoon, Official Chart/Update, 10 Minute Takeover and the odd few bits here and there are still on the old voices!

Each DJ has the NewsBeat bed loaded into their music playlist, so it's who ever is making the playlists loading the wrong one in I would think. But you are right they also have it on their cartwall!

I know, was a bit disappointed when the current one came on on monday. True, but they've always re voiced the news with the station regardless. Plus they keep using the Mike and Katie intro at the moment, not sure why!

Me neither, unless it's part of the updates that Pure will be doing with the new voice overs. The recent lot got updated with I think Louisa's "One"s on the end. You might be right about the Ibiza thing, does sound similar! A bit disappointed that NewsBeat keeps changing back to Mike and Katie on the intro though.

He did yes, Good lad Greg! I think 2 of them were on the Big Weekend ID's, Might have been Kyle? I'm sure I heard a Pure Jingles ID in there with the new voiceovers earlier, so either they've now got them and have made an update, or R1 has Dry copies of all those ID's and put them on themselves. I was amazed at how many of the old ID's and voiceovers were still on today, and that it took as long as the 5:45 Newsbeat to fully update it, I think they started to make the change around 3:30. At first I thought they weren't going to bother with updating the NewsBeat voices with that new package around the corner, but it mustn't be ready yet. Holly on the number one jingle impressed me the most as it doesn't mention "Watch from 6". But I agree, it's sounding quite nice!

So who's head the New Voices and Imaging on Radio 1 today? Not bad! Had a feeling this was coming when I heard this ID on Dev's show yesterday ( New R1 ID.wav ). They were slacking a bit on Newsbeat though, they didn't manage to start updating that till 4:30 and didn't get that fully updated till the 5:45 bulletin.

I have a feeling we will hear this new Newsbeat stuff in September when the line up changes. Sounds like a reasonable time for them to change.

Saying that though, every show now has shared news with 1Xtra apart from the Breakfast Shows. Greg manages it with Chris Smith With The News, depends if the other station is talking to them afterward.

Music 4 also did the package before that one but was never put on their website, now that was a "funky" news package! I'll see if I can find a clip.

So the deadline for the demo's is closed. I don't really know what to expect with this new one if I'm honest!

I hadn't actually noticed that it was not asking for them until just now! Unless they're planning on using the 3 main beds for news sport and weather? Serious for news, Medium for weather and Upbeat for sport? I kind of hope that Music4 jump on this, their NewsBeat stuff was always good!
