  1. When they were in Yalding House Matt definitely was in the same building, and I think he made the move to the 8th floor, but all the others were in Wogan house!
  2. That's how this all started off with NMF last april! 3 songs into a Ramp on the 4th or a Bed... i've noticed on a few shows they've tones it down a bit (still got the poorly inserted "GREG JAMES" on his shows though, wish they'd just change everything over now... although the move from Wogan House to the 8th floor for the imaging producers over the last few weeks probably hasn't helped that!
  3. Haha apologies, I hadn't even noticed I'd put it like that! I think it could work quite easily though and wouldn't require that much more effort to accomplish! TOH - Top Of Hour (so like 12:00:00 or 16:00:00). BOH - Bottom Of Hour!?
  4. See now with NewsBeat being on the half hour as apposed to the TOH it throws this out a bit because I would have the TOH ID after the news, but the news isn't at the TOH (unless it's the 15min). So i'd have a TOH ID at the TOH, maybe follow that with a Power Intro or usual DJ/Show IDs. And then out of the news have a DJ/Show ID that flows into a Power Intro because they all say BBC Radio 1 anyway (similar to what they did with Gregs shows, but so much better).
  5. They're certainly dragging this out, last time took a whole day, at this rate it's going to take a whole year ! That aside though, these past few days I've been thinking the amount of Power Intro usage is a bit OTT, or is that just me? Dev started with a new TOH yesterday and continued to play songs with normal Idents between them for at least the first half an hour, and I thought it sounded better!
  6. Also it was nice to hear Mike and Holly doing the numbers for Cel's Top 50 Most Played tracks!
  7. You say that, but the current NewsBeat launched when Grimmy and Greg were off last year, as well as "Where It Begins". It appears anything goes in terms of imaging at the moment haha!
  8. Ok so I said I would do one and here it is, This is a mashup of imaging from the past few months! Items such as Power Intros, General Idents, Chart of the Year and there's even a Trail in there! https://www.dropbox.com/s/9fghtz9gz1q7lkw/BBC Radio 1 Imaging Mashup 2016-2017.mp3?dl=0 Hope you all had a good christmas and here's to a Happy New Year!
  9. In that case, maybe there are certain DJs/shows that have both options? If you look closely at the two on Grimmy's running order in that picture the R1 edit is shorter than the actual track, which is at normal length?
  10. See i don't have this, I feel like I'm missing out on that front!
  11. You're taking that from the picture R1Breakfast posted yesterday aren't you? That's actually so the presenters have a choice on if they want to play the R1 Branded track or the normal track, depending on whats happening in the show an R1 Branded track might not fit in or they might want to talk on the ramp up to the vocal!
  12. The part about this I don't like is that it's Greg's name in the old voices, not the new ones, so again it doesn't flow. I know for a fact they have the names voiced up because Scott used to play a ID on NMF when it first started which had his name in the new voices.
  13. Was just about to put this but beaten again, Completely forgot about IMGR as an option for this!
  14. Here's one of the new ID's if anyone wants https://www.dropbox.com/s/jdfluy24bdsdrud/Nick Grimshaw New ID November 2016.wav?dl=0
  15. That might explain why he didn't use his show opener the other week when he was in, ready for this transition?
  16. Damn you beat me to it! It's sounding very good though and gives us an idea of things to expect from the new imaging due!
  17. I might have some time... I'll see what I can do!
  18. It's still on there! http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b07yv44v#play
  19. Actually on a second listen there's no way Matt started that trail, so again I think dira! must have started it as a fail safe with it being the next item in the playlist. In terms of the Vamps starting late, they started 30 seconds after the trail started, so if the trail hadn't have played we would have heard the full Vamps track, although it still seems odd as Clean Bandit is clearly the start of the tape...
  20. Aha you're not alone there one bit! That also puzzled me as if you listen it does kick in at a odd time which would be when the studio cut out. The trails are scheduled in VCS like the shows music, and in turn is played out from VCS, which means the trail needed to be launched by pressing the "Start Divert" button on the desk. Each studio has it's own Studer SCore that the studios mixing consoles connect too (the DHD version was a DSP Frame) which all the local (to that studio) audio sources would connect to, such as Microphones, Headphones, CMS (Call Management System), DJ Decks, CD Players etc. The SCores are linked together so you can share audio sources and GPIO between studios, it's also how they can handover to another studio by fading up the new studio's Program Bus. Now If I remember rightly somewhere on the 8th floor near the studios is the Rack room which has the servers for each studio (I would guess there is a minimum of 3 per studio, 1 for VCS Playout, 1 for VCS Cart on the DJ side, and 1 for VCS Cart where the news presenter would sit in the studio). I would also imagine that within this rack room there will be a Studer SCore that the VCS audio outputs would connect too (via IP Audio or Digital), and these will be selected on the console in the studio in the config and will act the same as a local source would. Now with this in mind, All I can think is that when the studio lost power as a fail safe "dira!" just played the next item, or Matt started it in great timing, but because it's audio output is connected to the SCore in the Rack Room as opposed to the one in the studio it still went out on air because it would have still been routed to the main Program Bus. This is how I would have set it up anyway.
  21. Haha that's great! I'd have loved to have been there when this happened. I find it strange how the Emergency Tape started part way through The Vamps and not at the start? Unless it is just on constant play now, when they were in Yalding it used to start from the start after the 30 second delay.
  22. Not that great to be fair, I'm an Electrician but soon to be promoted to Test Engineer... yay!
  23. And I would love to apply for that role, it's a shame my job currently would prevent me from applying for it... Oh well!
  24. Greg James' Dance Anthems show is actually pre mixed by station sound/music teams and split into sections a few songs long which give Greg (or Dev when he's in) spaces to talk, so i would assume it's probably making those pre mixes!
  25. I've had a listen through Friday's shows and it's not Holly Meyrick on the vocals, so it must be someone new!
