I'm so glad they didn't get any further with this, it would be awful - although I have to admit I'm amazed its taken this long for someone to try. I wouldn't necessarily agree that it has "no bearing on him as a person" - surely all our different characteristics define who we are, our sexuality being one of them? And all these things feed in to our personalities - and Scott's personality is what makes the show what it is, so you can't say that his sexuality has no bearing. Don't know about you, but my sexuality is absolutely crucial to who I am! But I agree with what I think you actually mean ,which I think is that to take his orientation out of the context of his whole self, and judge his show on that basis alone, is irrelevant and inappropriate.

I can understand having a personal opinion on this subject, and acting accordingly - what I can't understand is why anyone else (other than a partner) would want to know!

Isn't that interesting? I mean, Scott is gay, and has been "out" for ever, so its not exactly news - but the one thing I have always thought was that he doesn't actually sound remotely "gay" in the classic (stereotype?) sense, not at all! I don't like stereotypes, so I've always rather treasured that about Scott! Is it just me? Does everyone else think that Scott "sounds gay" (whatever the hell that means?)?

lol yes, I know - but I do like it! I realised that there is an element of pre-recording in any "live" phone in show - my ex was a radio dj and he did a request show, but it was almost live - he would take the calls during the show, edit them and put them out five minutes later, and occasionally a completely live one got thrown in for good measure. So it was partly prerecorded, but even then only by minutes! So is that how Scott does it, or is it all prepared and recorded in a lump, with just the links live? Because if so, I just think it is stupid for him to keep urging listeners to call in at five to six. But perhaps his listeners are just sticking to the levels of naivety they have shown in other circumstances, and believe everything they hear! And Paul O'Grady and Big Brother can do what they like, I have never watched either!

Rude Box is a brilliant album, musically the best thing Robbie Williams has ever done. Clearly the people who compiled this list of nominations are twassocks.
