  1. GUYS!!!! Thank you so much!!! I'm actually quite choked! (or is it the Woo Woo's?) thank you. Special thank you coming up on The Surgery tonight!
  2. It won't get rid of bullies I'm afriad. Bullying is going to happen everywhere - in every school, college, university and work place. It's about knowing why people bully, what's the best thing to do when it does happen and what you can do to minimise your chances of being bullied.
  3. And on BBC Headroom website, and Surgery site and iPlayer generally
  4. No, Comedy Dave ISN'T on Twitter. No wink. Dave refuses to get an account, that therefore means others have got it and are enjoying the following. Please don't follow on Comedy Daves because that just encourages them.
  5. Don't use the e-mail address! There is some confusion at the moment re these addresses. So only phone number and text, which is 03700 100 100 and 81199 (the 0800 number is an off-air advice line and doesn't come to the studio). We're reviewing our use of the e-mail address. It might make a comeback in time.
  6. No, it's a bizarre and random mistake. It's being corrected. God you're quick Jono!
  7. Interesting Jono. We put the new Twitter account out there for that very reason. I lose respect for Twitter accounts that are merely used to sell things or promote things to you when all I want is to get to know that person a little but better. I was hoping that @chrismoylesshow would free up Twitter messages from team members to be about them and allow people who do want to be told of up coming stuff to get it from an official source.
  8. Hello everyone! Yes, it's a debate show this week. The two topics are: 1) Success: How do you define it? and 2) Politics: Are you bothered? xx
  9. Oh my God! Don't post thread titles like that - I'll get into trouble!!! There are two DJ briefings - one for daytime djs and one for specialist and weekend djs. That's only to divide numbers - it's not exclusively for those djs only. Edith wasn't able to make last week's so she came to this one instead!
  10. haha! I was hoping it was you! You're welcome xx
  11. Remember, visualisation and the trial isn't actually about the video. People are just seduced by that and the "it's tv" conversation that leads. There was a discussion about doing the visualisation trial without the video to prove the point! It's the data that the BBC is so good and pulling in for the songs from the different areas of the BBC like Live Lounges, sessions, interviews etc, and the interactivity along with extra content that enhances what you're listening to. more like an enhanced DAB screen than a poor man's tv.
  12. No, the red button on freeview costs A LOT. There isnt the money for that. In the future though, possibly.
  13. Don't worry guys. This is honestly a trial. Just that. A trial. This one is 6 weeks so that we can test your theory - are the huge online stats only because it's a day / week novelty? If so, that novelty will wear off by the end of the 6 weeks. This is a way for us to know how much demand there would be and also for us to see what can be done.
  14. Hey everyone. I'm in with Fearne to do a bit of a gaming surgery style feature helping people with sections of games they might be stuck on or finding bonus levels etc What games you currently playing? Stuck on any? Aled
  15. I think you may be right Jono. Or it's a joke. He can't get THAT many things wrong in one article can he? They've asked for comments. Feel free: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showbiz/bizarre/article2384591.ece
  16. I've spoken to Ben Cooper this morning (Deputy Controller) and Caren Davies (Head Of Press) and this story isn't true. Will Chris and the team be moved after Septemeber - yes of course - but that could be December, next year, 2 years. Ben and Andy haven't decided what's happening to the show, because at the moment there's no need to decide. Terry Wogan though has been presenting Radio 2's breakfast show for 16 years. So there's no cap in how long someone can present the breakfast show. The writer of the piece was Gordon Smart who is the Sun journalist who had his piece ripped apart on the show a couple of weeks ago when he wrote the piece about how great Scott had done at the Sony's whereas Chris "only" got one - for Best Breakfast, when in reality both had receieved one Sony nomination. It is also true that if Chris isn't doing breakfast Scott is. That's not press worthy - it's been true since January 2004 - and everyone at Radio 1, not just Scott is aware of this. I'm sorry you as fans, and we as a team who love making the show are getting dragged in to journalistic agendas. Roll on September when we will become the longest breakfast show in Radio 1 history!
  17. Radio 1 management want the topics based on news events, so the topics we're doing this week are: Is religion important? and How far would you go to look good? (Good one for me that one!)
  18. Oh Jono you're evil! I haven't started my own fan page! They've changed fan pages to become public pages for exactly my need - I have a personal profile which has 5,000 friends and 5,200 waiting to be confirmed but I can't as they cap friends at 5k! When I asked the press office about lifting the cap they said that's what the public pages are now for. There is already a 'fan page' on fb which is very flattering so I've no need to create my own! LOL! I thought Greg's worked well so wanted to create my own public page and eventually close my profile. If too many people can't see it for what it is and think it really is all about ego I'll close it. Seems a shame though
  19. Freeview was a mistake that will be corrected by next week
  20. Not sure where this came from but there's no Moyles on Good Friday. Greg's in for us.
  21. Lol! How come? It's a show with two elements, a slight discussion in what whould be in Sex Education and when it should be taught etc but we'll also be answering the questions that you would love to ask when you DO get your sex ed. The open surgeries where you can ask about sex are ALLWAYS the shows with the most texts. Also when you consider our show is the youngest on Radio 1 - firmly teen, with a secondary following above teens but also 12 - 15 you realise that even the "simplest" questions are interesting to some.
  22. Give us time There are a lot of great plans for the Surgery this year that we're working on. By the end of 09 it should be a much stronger brand. I love the show so would happily work on a podcast but it's not down to me, it's down to management who would need to sort out editorial issues of content on podcasts etc.
  23. Chris spoke to Cheryl and Kimberley and reiterated that he apologised on air, and as far as he's concerned has not spoken about it again since.
