  1. Thank you very much! It was a lovely yet chilled out birthday For those asking I love this site and find myself reading it often! As well as chrismoyles.net and my own aled.info. I suppose you could call mr a geek! Thanks again xx
  2. It's just the single
  3. fyi Laura's the producer for that show!
  4. Oops, sorry. having. Still in the diary for Friday
  5. Actually Rachel and I swapped back in September. I'm the show producer - and for the record it's not a promotion! A producer's a producer! As to why these things are happening now... Carrie's had a baby (not dependent on Chris' contract!) and Piers has got a 3 month attachment at Radio 4 so rather than bring in one of the other Execs, Rachel - who had done very well recently in an Exec board was given the opportunity to act up for 3 months. Again, not dependent on Chris' contract
  6. Because you have a tendancy to fear the worst in situations. Unfortunately this year with Chris show coming from his house rather than the studio I wasn't with him for the show. For that reason I wasn't able to give him his cards (all 56 of them). The first opportunity I had was today after the show as we've been all over the place over the last couple of days. As coincidence - and I hadn't seen this thread before he went through his cards he singled UM's card out of the pile and said how nice it was - and he asked me to thank you... So genuinely - thank you guys from Chris. The two that he seemed most touched by was yours and the one from Jaffa Cakes I'm afraid as much as he appreciates the card sending one in can never guarantee a mention, we simply get too many to be able to promise that. Please don't ever take it as a statement about the site, because I promise you it's not! x
  7. Mitchell - I'm honestly emotional at that positive review. It's like the man from DelMonte - "he said yes!" (Ask your parents)
  8. That song is brilliant. Was almost my weekend anthem!
  9. Don't worry - it won't be a happy one! Who calls up to talk to someone about how happy an event it is? The show will help anyone jarred by Valentine's Day. Despite being in a good place right now, I remember it being 5 days after I was dumped last year so my empathy levels will be at a 110%!
  10. I'll pass the comments onto the team. Thank you.
  11. Btw all at very little cost. It's been so successful we're planning on keeping a 'Hang Out with The Chris Moyles Show' element and doing it more often.
  12. I agree it's not. As to this week. It's worked on many levels - and when taken as an entirety has been a success. It's easy to pick elements which could have been better but none of the points have made mr regret doing what we have. It's our first week back - I don't think it's any longer an option for us to say let's have a week - that's 5 shows of nothing to give Chris the opportunity to chat. These shows allowed for that while including an element of excitement, structure, additional soap opera, an opportunity for something to promote along with the chance to meet our listeners.
  13. Because we can't be seen to be encouraging children to miss school. Universities are out and if someone's in work they can apply for a day off.
  14. Don't worry. Closing jingle. Back from tomorrow.
  15. Chris doesn't like features so that ends that one for me. As for NDubz. No-one - except maybe Chipmunk, or JLS - comes close to giving us the kind of listener reaction that we get when we involve NDubz. Chart, online hits, text feedback, calls to studio, crowd outside Radio 1 - they are number 1 in all those fields at the moment. They have a very large and devoted - very young fan base and each time NDubz are involved with the show their fanbase tunes in. It's incredible to watch. We're not saying every young person loves them but those that do - love them. Plus you're wrong re Chris - he has so much respect for them as artists. The humour comes from the totally different world they come from.
  16. Viv - I should have expected that the one line that actually offends me would have come from you! Please point out your comments are your opinions and not fact. I don't think they're desperation - I'm really proud if this week's comps they involve the listener at a time that celebs are few and far between. The prize isn't NDubs - the prize is hangin out with the team. We're doing it to celebrate 6 years and record figures so there are a lot of people who would like to win these. Thousands in fact judging by the number of entries. So please don't snake statements about your opinions and dress them up as fact.
  17. Yes, could we have a few more under 30s please?
  18. I can honestly say it's not about the ratings. There are many many more 35+ out there than there are 15-30 year olds so it'd be very very difficult to have more listeners than Chris Evans. The Radio 2 wil always have the advantage. So that's really not the focus for us!
  19. It's bot compulsory as such. It depends on the show. If you're doing a new format or have a new team you need to pilot to test how it all sounds.
  20. We did a few pilots too. It's an important part of the process to see how everyone works together and to iron out timings, how the news, music, chat etc mixes before you launch. You don't really want to be working that out on air when everyone's listening!
  21. it's not a Surgery in the Surgery slot.
  22. Aled

    Bullyproof!

Surely this should have it's own thread rather than being tucked behind an Open Surgery topic! This is really important to a lot of people!
  23. Sorry Viv. Forgot to get to you in time!
