Greg James caller reveals over 400 skydives — including one in just his underwear

Greg James spent much of Friday’s Radio 1 Breakfast Show asking listeners for their “greatest achievement while wearing your underwear”, after a Rugby League World Cup try ended in a wardrobe malfunction for New Zealand’s Kailyn Ponga. The standout answer came from Craig, who called in to reveal he skydives for fun near Sunderland and has now done it 412 times — including once in just his underwear. “There’s something wrong with you, isn’t there, in a glorious way?” Greg told him, before Craig revealed he tries to fit in one or two jumps most weekends. Another caller, Gil, admitted his contribution was less dramatic: chasing his chickens round the garden “in my pants”.

Regular caller Lucy was back for more good-natured roasting, having spent the week supplying Greg with insults people have apparently thrown her way, from being called “sturdy” to being told she looks “less haggard” since a new job. She then took on the Wrong-Uns quiz, scoring ten points with answers including Ice lollies for what falls from trees in autumn and Rob Beckett for who Fontaine’s DC collaborated with on their new album.

Friday’s quiz final saw Becky beat Martin to win the week, picking Mark Ronson’s Bang Bang Bang as her prize song after correctly naming Christmas as the theme of an Emily Atack advert. Greg also previewed Georgia Smith’s Live Lounge session at midday and confirmed Jenna Ortega and Amy Adams are booked as guests on next week’s show.
