It’s early in the morning, Chris has gone away, Scott Mills is here to wake you up for a brand new day…
Good morning to you all. You’ll find us in the dark ages for the next two weeks – the breakfast show. Yes, Scott and the team are in for Chris Moyles whilst Nihal and Sara Cox take care of that 4pm show business.
Potty in the Pub
Last night Scott was mobbed by a whole load of Harry Potter fans dressed as characters from Harry Potter, or so he thought. He was in the pub, when they turned up. It turns out they were there as part of a Harry Potter convention, and not there to lynch him. Scott took the time to talk to some of them (treasure that moment kids) and it turns out some of them had even finished the book just 48 hours after it’d been released. One caller told us it’d taken her just five hours yesterday to finish the book, and she ignored her boyfriend for the book when he came to visit.
Shocking entertainment from the Scott Mills show
‘Electric Shock Trivia’ was back again today, and this time rather than curing Scott’s karma they were just doing it for fun. Chappers felt to decide on who was going to do it they’d have a good old demographic vote. Which saw all of the team gang up on Scott. Lucky for him all the questions were about his show. But it wasn’t really that lucky for him, as he’s not even skilled in his own personal affairs, and achieved one out of five right. And back by popular demand, it was the turn of Laura. She had to answer questions of current affairs, and did just as well as Scott, with four shocks going her way. Listen back to it on Unofficial Mills now, and remember, don’t try it at home.
Radio 1’s Six Weeks of Rain Summer
And there’s no flies on Scott at the moment. He knows exactly where Six Weeks of Summer is going this week, as it’s the only weekend Global Gathering is on. It’d be a bit pointless to go another weekend, so he’s let it out of the bag a day prior to the announcement. Scott’s now hoping it’ll be cancelled because of floods so he has a better announcement for the next day. Interestingly it’s also been advertised Sara Cox and the dance DJs will be there, so it’s kind of screwed up that too. But not to worry, I’m sure the show will be great, and I’m sure it’ll be enjoyable to hear Coxy’s voice on the breakfast show again tomorrow.

Elsewhere in the loopy world of Mills, it’s been quite an experimental weekend for Scott. He’s discovered a new taste sensation that involves eating salt and vinegar crisps along with diet coke at the same time. Just what we want to hear at eight o’clock in the morning, a nice and healthy suggestion to improve your diet. I’m sure it’s ‘deee-lish’. Other suggestions include fries and strawberry milkshake. I think Scott’s on par with the boredom those people suffer when they end up in A & E with objects they’ve ‘fallen on’.

He also discovered his flatmate’s sister’s child called Felix (off of the cat food) has a new… talent. He can’t say his name yet as he’s only two, but can manage to point at himself down below and camply say “fifi!” They’ll make a Mills out of him yet.

Also on the show today there was Flirt Divert featuring DJ Dave The Brave, some apologies for a girl called Mandy, and a mystery about a missing monkey. I can’t go into it, you’ll have to listen again, it’s far too early to comprehend what they were saying! Colin Murray’s black hole is going daily tonight too. Scott had some treats from Colin’s black hole too, featuring the Fiddy Cent and Thomas The Tank mix (which almost cost him his job) and a Benny Hill vs Eminem mix. Tune in from 10pm tonight for more like that. Oh, and this week’s Record of the Week is a song very personal to Laura. It’s called ‘She’s So Lovely’ by Scouting for Girls, and was written about Laura. Bless!
A strong start to the two weeks of breakfast shows with enough content to keep us amused throughout. Let’s hope the standard is maintained!
