Hello there, it’s Tuesday, and another day of the Scott Mills show. Still reading my reviews, let me know, I like to hear who actually does read them!
Both Scott and Chopper had at least 12 hours sleep last night, so Chappers was a lot less moody today, although if you read on with this review you’ll find he’s got more than just that to smile about today.
Flirt Divert
Last night there were some interesting messages on the Flirt Divert answerphone. Read yesterday’s review to find out what happened, but one girl who was overly modest, claimed it was her who a guy was talking about who had ‘nice boobs’. No one had owned up for being the person who dented the bonnet of someone’s car in the early hours of one morning, nor pretending to be Steve Lamacq. Although it’s possible it could have been a Steve Coogan impersonator.
Mistaken Identity
Not only was there some mistaken identities about Pat Sharpe yesterday, but now it’s a crisis of age. Now you know Scott, he’s only young, and there’s plenty of time for Scott to grow mature, but last night Scott and his flatmate went to a bar, and his flatmate was actually asked for ID. He’d just turned 26! Another girl e-mailed in after being visited by a hunk that was a door to door salesman and was asked if her parents were in. This was even though she’s a teacher, owns the flat and is married. This seems to happen all the time to listeners. One guy had just turned 26 and was asked for ID to buy two bottles of wine from Morrisons. Not only that but Scott was outraged last month that he had to take his cap off in a bar.

Oswestry’s finest meets Liverpool’s finest
Live from Oswestry, Lloyd was back on the show after visiting the Liverpool team, who had just launched their new Adidas kit. You’ll have to bear with me on these footballers names, as I know diddly squit about them. Lloyd asked Javier Alonzo from Spain what his nickname was, as he’s usually called names about being ginger. We weren’t sure what he said, and it could be offensive, but Chappers is thinking he said ‘bonior la tits’. Later on we found it wasn’t Spanish but interrupts as ‘good at the toes’ which is likely to mean ‘good with his feet’. It would make sense. Lloyd’s mum used to tell him the crusts on his bread made his hair go curly, so when Lloyd asked Javier what his mum used to say we were told his mother used to ‘tell him a lot of things’ but he was rather stumped at giving a reasonable answer. He even had to ask the translator what crusts were.
Next up it was Jose Reina, the one that Lloyd’s mum fancied. Lloyd asked him if he’s ever been on a ferry. He hasn’t, but wants to try. I’m sure it’ll make an interesting day out.
And he also met Steven Gerrad, who said hello to Lloyd even before the interview. He hasn’t got a nickname, but has been called names about his hair, but what Gerrad says is not to worry, you should be happy as you are, he certainly is. It’s good to know this guy who has millions in the bank and plays for some top football clubs is happy. Now as a footballer you have to eat a lot of healthy food as a child to prepare yourself to be a top footballer. But not this guy, oh no. He used to eat a lot of sweets. That’s the answer he gave just as Liverpool’s PR person felt the need to cough all over the answer, as if to say that isn’t the right answer to give. So with that in mind, what’s his favourite cereal? Lloyd says he likes Frosties, but can’t stand the advert. Steven’s advice was to turn over when the advert comes on as he quite likes that cereal. This is the point Lloyd seemed unhappy with this answer, as he gave a very sarcastic ‘thanks for that’.
So after meeting the Liverpool team, and getting to interview them, surely your day can’t get much better? Apparently it can, as Claire called in to say she saw Lloyd on Sky Sports News last night. He was pictured with Steven Gerrad, although she’s not sure. So firstly she recognised Lloyd, but couldn’t recognise a popular footballer, and secondly why was she tuned in to this station if she doesn’t know her football facts? Janet Jackson was on today, and they’ve come to the conclusion she really is too nice for their show. First of all the interview starts off with Mills suggesting some useful places to go in the UK, like Newport. But she didn’t seem interested, she was quite happy in London. Crucially they had to ask about her weight changes recently. Now I didn’t understand a lot of what she said here, but from what I could figure out, she explained that she put the weight on as she supposed to be starring in a film which she felt she needed to have a bit weight for. So she piled it all on.
But then because of her new album, she couldn’t do the movie, so Mariah Carey took the role, and so she had to take it all of again. This required many nutritionists and trainers. It’s an interesting theory love, but I don’t think it sounds too believable.

She then expressed her dislike for camera phones, as some guy had caught her jogging towards him whilst she was trying to lose weight. Now surely that’s the first thing you’d do if you saw a fat Janet Jackson jogging towards you. Well, before getting out of the way, of course.
Scott didn’t think the interview was going anywhere remotely exciting, so Scott decided to talk more about himself. This is where they played some clips of Hip Hop Karaoke. She seemed a bit bemused by it all, and said that in Scott’s performance of ‘Candy Shop’ that he had a bit of a ‘pocket problem’. God knows what that means, she wasn’t too sure herself, but she thinks may be he needs to dance with it to help him stay in time with the beat. Chappers thought that the white wine would help that, but then wouldn’t help his singing.
To liven things up Chappers arranged to have a wardrobe malfunction half way through. It didn’t really work too well on the radio; all you hear is some muffled sounds before Chappers quietly says that he’s ‘just popped out’. She did at least let out a nervous laugh. Now is this because she found the situation amusing, or because he has secrets about what’s down stairs? Let’s just hope this isn’t a regular occurrence for him to ‘pop out’ with celebrities. It’s front page news for The Sun at the moment.
Finally after it was all over, one texter wanted to know when the interview was going to begin. May be that sums up how well it went? Her new single is called ‘Call On Me’, so if you like it, go out and buy it.

You may not have heard of them… they’re McFly
Now if you’re a regular listener of the show you’ll remember Shannon. In March last year Scott spoke to a guy called Paul, who has an 8 year old daughter called Shannon who had a brain tumour. After much surgery of having it removed it was diagnosed as cancer. At the time they tried to put a smile on Shannon’s face by letting her meet McFly. After all this they spoke to her again in September to find out how she’s getting along.
But we hadn’t heard much from her since. That was until now. Paul was back on today to tell us Shannon’s been getting along fine, she’s been back to school, and that now the treatment is finished she’s had the all clear! It’s been a struggle for the parents, and she’s still got to have a some check-ups every six months, but after a year and half of chemotherapy and radiotherapy, the only medication has to have is some epilepsy tablets. It still doesn’t sound so good, but at least she’s over the cancer. Shannon lost all her hair, and she went down to half her weight but thankfully she’s putting her weight back on and her hair is back on too. Paul says she’s feeling fantastic, she’s had a holiday in Ireland and she returned today. Danny was back on the phone, and so they gave Shannon another call. As a regular listener it was great to hear Shannon back on, and she sounded much livelier compared to the last two phone calls we had from her.
