Good afternoon, it's Monday and if you haven't been listening to Radio 1 over the past 3 days, what have you been doing? Up until Wednesday Radio 1 is playing the best of British music, all in honour of the BRITs which is on Wednesday evening. There is also a chance to win tickets to the BRITs each day this week. Callers just have to call Radio 1 when they hear an American track, and then try to answer as many as BRITs questions correct as possible. Chappers was amazed Scott had tickets to the VIP Backstage party.
Chappers had a good weekend, had been to Portsmouth at the weekend gigging. Laura has been reading 'Diaries of an Internet Lover' by Dawn Porter which the team have been finding very raunchy and an interesting read. Could we be on our way to the first Mills book club?
Scott played the call to Glasgow University again today, and suggested if you don't believe him to give them a call. He went back on that statement and said please don't call them, perhaps check out the list on the internet instead.
Laura's Diary
It's back by popular demand from last week following Season 3 and it's now Season 4. Hear Season 3 in full on our website. No Friends in the middle like on E4, but Mary is back after being offended by Laura's 'messing about' in Mary's bed from last season. Mary was confused about when to start but then again so was I. Today's diary entry comes from Tuesday 23rd September 1997. Laura couldn't get to sleep tonight as the people upstairs were 'at it again'. They were doing it for an hour, but it was making her miss Ben. He thinks it might be the guy with the girlfriend who looks like a slag. Three boys had moved in to the flat, and one of them (Dave) advised she moved out as he didn't think they'd get along. She'd moved the food out incase they nicked it and Charlie constantly walked in to the flat without knocking. The guy from Portugal seems to fancy her too, but she doesn't want to give him the wrong impression. She met some lesbians too in the laundry room, they started talking to Laura so she ran away. She's only been there a week, and she's missing Ben like mad. She tried to have some intimate phone calls but people were listening in. The entry ends with an optimistic message – 'this is crap'.
So you've all heard of those 'no win, no fee' 'where there's a blame, there's a claim' companies, and Scott's had a lot of e-mails about how annoying they are. So naturally Scott got Chappers on the case, and fair play to her, she spent a lot of time on the phone to him as Scott messed around in the background. Well messed around in the Mills sense, not an act from Laura's Diary. He wanted the help of this lady, and told her about his friend who was climbing up a ladder on a farm and fell off. This was about 3 minutes ago, but hadn't called for an ambulance. Chappers then got his friend to climb up a ladder and fall off again, and then he lent on a machine and lost an arm whilst his dog ran off with it. A piano ended up falling on his poor friend (Scott messing about with some sounds) until she finally asked was Chappers being serious.
Chappers: "Not really, no"
Excellent acting in the call, and is definitely worth a listen again.
Lots of people were asking Scott over the weekend if Mark off of Friday's Flirt Divert in the toilet cubical got his toilet paper or not, hopefully he did or he's been there all weekend. The second message was from someone saying 'don't worry about the parrot' – is that code? And the third 'the sheep are out'. Elsewhere lots of people were using Flirt Divert with funny names for 'Ivor Pen-is' and 'Micollague Jusfarted' (or something like that). Has there been any more messages from posh bloke? Last time we heard from him he said he was up to Barbados for a few months with his parents, but he's not been in touch since. 07770 756 408 is the number you need to save in your phone.
